Not sure even what to think of this:   http://media.ford.com/article_display.cfm?article_id=35842

Re: Car doctor anyone?

  • Sounds too complicated... I'm sure it will go over just as well as their Sync technology did. The only issue is I don't think they'll be able to get Geek Squad to help them when this confuses people.

Sounds like another thing in a car to distract us from actually driving safely.
  • That just sounds way too complicated. I for one would not want my blood pressure taken while driving either.

I just don't understand the need for this sort of stuff.  That entirely over-loaded phone in your pocket can access the internet and all the stuff that goes with it so why does anyone need yet another electronic device to be attached to?

The desire and need for society to be so attached to electronics - to even do something as mundane as reading a book!! - is starting to really worry me.

    I agree wholeheartedly.
  • More electronics in a car = more things to go wrong = higher and more frequent maintenance bills =  more money for Ford.

Wow that's just nuts, I mean why would you need that?

    Brilliant equation!
  • The only people who ever think these things are a good idea are the manufacturers. As someone who works in the service department of a toyota dealer, the minute i saw EnTune come out (its a new program that pretty much links your phone apps to a touch screen in your car) mine, and a few coworkers first though was, great, whats going to go wrong with this. More money for the manufacturer, more headaches for the people who deal with fixing it and explaining it to customers =[
