Breakfast for overnight guests after the reception.

Hello,

My fiance & I are paying for our whole wedding. We are looking into hotels for a venue for our reception, so people could really party and not worry about driving home right after.

My cousin recently had this style wedding and paid for everyone's breakfast brunch the next morning.

We are pricing this and it'll come to an extra $2k which we could not afford. (we are already struggling to pay for everything else).

What's the etiquette for this situation? Is it expected for us to offer our guest a complimentary breakfast? I don't want to be rude, and I want to make my uests happy.

you are not expected to pay for breakfast the next day.

That said, we choose a hotel that breakfast was included in the room rate.  So we all had breakfast together anyway.

Morning after brunches are nice, but certainly not required.  If it isn't in your budget, don't do it.  

If you're looking at hotels, look for some that offer a continental breakfast with the room.  A friend of mine did a hotel like that and everyone ended up at the complimentary brunch at the hotel the next morning.

It's a nice thought to do if your budget allows it but definitely isn't mandatory!

Holliday Inn express and Hampton Inn have complimentary breakfast.  Try to find one of those if you can!

shoot, all I'm doing is listing mine and FI's favorite local breakfast places on our website. I'll be in a plane by the time our overnight guests even wake up. it is totally our guests' prerogative whether they want the continental breakfast, go somewhere else, or skip breakfast altogether. the way I see it, I just paid for food, alcohol, and dancing for them the night before; they can buy their own breakfast. but that might just be me.

I believe Homewood Suites by Hilton does as well. This is where we had our RD and where some of our guests (including us) stayed. We had a continental breakfast the next morning with some friends and family before heading to my parents' for a picnic.

Ditto on the complimentary breakfast. We weren't even really thinking about that when we chose a hotel, but our hotel had the best free breakfast ever, and we had a great time catching up in the morning with several people. Particularly when my BM showed up with her hair still done, arm in arm with my cousin/an usher still in his suit from the wedding. We would never have been quite so entertained without the breakfast fun

We'll be joining our guests for breakfast right before we leave for our honeymoon and we're paying because a lot of people are coming from out of town.  However, we're not paying much.  We've asked the hotel where we blocked rooms to set aside a space for us and they've done that free of charge.  And we're gonna go out and get donuts, bagels, muffins, and coffee from dunkin donuts and people can help themselves.  I don't anticipate it costing over 100 dollars and who doesn't like bagels and donuts?
