Looking for Venue Similar to The Foundry in Long Island City

Hi everyone, I'm hoping you might have some recommendations.  I'm looking for venue suggestions that are similar to The Foundry in Long Island City (which is all booked up) or Tobacco Warehouse in Brooklyn (where you can't have weddings anymore).  Someplace in the NY/NJ/PA/CT area that is like a raw or abandoned space (i love all the brick at the venues listed above) with an outdoor option.  Anyone?!

In Brooklyn: Brooklyn Winery, Bubby's Brooklyn, Skylight One Hanson (former bank, I believe), Prospect Park Picnic House, BacoDumbo, Smackmellon, Stage 6 at Steiner Studios and Dumbo lofts.  As for Queens, I'm not too sure of other venues that are not raw spaces other than The Foundry and maybe Water's Edge (though it's a bit catering hall look).  In the city, there's New Museum, Studio 450, 91 Event Space (my personal favorite), City Winery, Bridgewaters, Loft 11, Twenty Four Fifth, Tribecca Rooftop and Sunset Terrace, among others.  I think you really need to narrow down your locations.  There are so many options in NY alone, you may get overwhelmed.

The Renaissance Astoria and the Flushing Town Hall are other options. Good luck!
  • After you find a venue that you like try one and only caterer I would recommend  Creative Foods Catering

I used them last year for my wedding and everything was fantastic. Their cost was fraction of any quotes I received from other caterers. The menu was filled with all upscale items such as Filet Mignon, Salmon, Crab Cakes etc.

They allowed me to provide liquor (a big money saver!!) they provided bartenders and all other staff. You even choose the staff’s uniform!! We used a raw wedding venue in Manhattan for 150 guests.

    Their website is:

    I highly recommend it!!

  • Thanks for this list, I have also been looking for something similar because the Foundry is a little out of our price range.

  • Do you by any chance know how much the Foundry costs? We live in Astoria and were looking at it online, and it looks amazing.

Definitely out of my price range.  Does anyone have any other recommendations, something like a beer hall, or a raw space around NY, NJ, CT, eastern PA, that's cheap?  I looked at the above suggestions (and thank you!!) but they're not exactly what I'm looking for.  (I'm having a Steampunk wedding, so lofts or restaurants with big windows don't exactly work. :/ Any help would be grealty appreaciated!
