Affordable Hotels--Name some!

Our wedding weekend is in Brooklyn (Dumbo and Fort Greene) in October, and so far all of the hotel prices I have seen are ridiculous.

Downtown Brooklyn Marriott--outrageously priced.

Nu Hotel, Downtown Brooklyn--outrageously priced.

Holiday Johnson, Soho--unbelievably expensive ($399 a night).

Please help! Where are other people blocking rooms?

Hmmm... I got the NU for $179/night (but for August).

I got Hotel Le Jolie in Williamsburg for $179 a night in October.  We have it booked solid for Columbus Day weekend.

i got tribeca grand for $225 per night (they offered the soho grand too) and across the street from tribeca grand at Hilton Garden for $189.  give either of them a try!

I have the same issue, but for May.  The fact is, from now until much of October is tourist and high season, so you can't get around that.  You can contact the hotels and try to work something out, check priceline and other sites frequently, but bottom line, it's another wedding expense so if you just chaulk it up accordingly, it's easier to take.

we are doing the courtyard marriott midtown for $179. pretty much all of our guests are from out of town and with many of them staying for up to a week, we needed a reasonably priced hotel.  i did a site visit and it has fairly large rooms.  hope this helps!
