pre-ceremony pictures

We only have our photographer 6 hours, so I'm trying to use our time efficiently here. Our ceremony starts at 5 p.m. How does this photography timeline sound?

3:15 - bride & groom meet for pictures

3:45 - bridal party & immediate family join us for pictures

4:30 - pictures done. Groom heads directly to ceremony site (half a mile away) with best man. Bride goes to rental house with parents & maid of honor (half a mile away in the other direction) to touch up makeup.

4:50 - bride goes to ceremony site (a 5 to 10 minute drive... I don't want to be there too early because I can't hide very well. I'll be behind that lighthouse in my sig, but people can see me if they're walking from one direction.)

5:00 - ceremony begins

I've never been in a bridal party, so I don't know how long pictures take. At all.

Could you do your bridal party pictures beforehand as well?
ETA: Oh wait, you have that with family pictures. Just joking! ;P
If you are doing them all at one location, I think that sounds good.

    I love your location, btw.

  • Ask your photog how long s/he thinks you need for pics before hand.
  • jasmineh - we just have a maid of honor and best man, who ARE immediate family so yeah, they're combined. And thanks!

    NCV - panning on it!

  • We did all of our photos in 1 1/2  and that was in several locations. I think your timeline looks good.

  • You probably won't need your bridal party/family for 45 minutes worth of pictures - more like a half hour tops. We met at our photo site at 1, and left at 3. I'd say the bridal party was in 20-30 minutes worth of pictures tops.
