Save the Dates

I have a few friends that live together in the apartment.
Do I need to send more then 1 save the date ?
Also, if some of the guest are in college and mom and dad are invited
is it okay just to send 1 to the parents house. I know a lot of times
mail gets lost on college campus and plus I don't know
if a 18 year old college kid is gonna hang on to a save the date
if mom and dad has one back at home.

If anyone has some insight it will be greatly appreciated.

Kindly,
Nicole

Re: Save the Dates

  • I would send a separate save-the-date to each invited party in the apartment.

College kids... I'm on the fence.  I think just to the parents would be alright.
  • I kind of broke the rules on this one.  If it was a younger college student (under 21) I put their name on their parents.  If they were 21 or over or had a serious s/o I gave them their own.  However, the correct etiquette is to send them each their own.

As for those who live in the same house together, I would send them each their own.
  • For roommates, send them a separate STD. For college kids, I guess it depends on how close you are to them. If you're really close, send them one. I don't know about anyone else, but I loved getting mail when I was at school.
  • We sent individual STDs to people, even if they lived with other people who were invited.  3 of FI's friends live together and they gave him a lot of crap like, "did we really need THREE magnets to remember your wedding?!?"  Guys are just weird like that.  In hindsight, I would have done individual ones for my side, but maybe one per household for his friends.

For college people, we still sent them their own STD.  Partially because ours were magnets so I thought it was easier for them to hang onto.  But if you don't want to send them separately to save money, I think that's fine, too.
