[QUOTE]In Response to Re: It's 1am : The Crazies was a good movie. We liked it. I would love to have bison more often, but I don't see it in the stores very often. Maybe next time I will try making chili with ground bison..That might make it a little healthier

We havent tried it in chilli yet. Have to wait for fall to start cooking that.

Where we live there is a small family owned grocery store and they have a lot of specialty stuff. They will sell you the burgers already formed with seasoning, or just the ground meat. Their deli, and fish market is awesome too.

  • kd--Whisky is doing great, sleeping mostly. He's not happy about the cone but has gotten used to it. he's back to normal, just has stitches in his side. Thanks for asking!

Here is the Moroccan eggplant dip:
    3 tbs. olive oil
2 ichiban eggplant (trim ends and dice)
    1 8oz can tomato sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced or pressed
1 green bell pepper (stemmed, seeded, and chopped)
    1 tbs ground cumin
    1/4 tsp ground cayenne pepper
    2tsp sugar
    2 tsp salt
    1/4 c red wine vinigar
     1/4 c chopped cilantro

heat oil in frying pan over medium heat
add all ingredients, cover and heat for 20 minutes
uncover and boil for 5 minutes until mixture reduces to about 3 cups
let cool. cover and regrigerate for at least 2 hours
    add cilantro before serving

  • KD, I love finding new recipes. DH is my guinea pig for all recipes, and he's more than happy to be my first-taste vicitm. He complains I'm making him fat, but that doesn't stop him from getting a third helping.

I enjoy baking more than I actually like eating what I make. Like, one of my favorite desserts to cook is apple pie. I make the crust from scratch and everything. But I don't eat it, I don't like pie. I just like watching everyone else enjoy it. Same with the moroccan dip. I don't like eggplant, but DH and our friends love it.

the cupcakes are a different story. I don't usually like cupcakes, but these are really good. They are light and spongy, I guess because it's a cake mix rather than cupcake. Let me know what you think of them!
