Ohio G2G

So I saw that Columbus the weekend of January 29-31 was the verdict, right?

I just wanted to offer my services to squirrly, or whoever is taking the lead on planning this - squirrly?  I live in town so I can offer suggestions on bars, restaurants, hotels, etc. if you tell me a little bit about what you're thinking.

Re: Ohio G2G

  • Yup, I'm the one who came up with this idea.  :)  I've really only been through Columbus, so I'm definitely open for help.

I know different people will have different availability, arrival times, etc.  I figured we'd plan for Saturday afternoon/evening, but maybe offer up suggestions for Friday night, if anybody is going to get there in time.  The only particularly awesome thing I know of first-hand is the outlet mall with White House | Black Market.  :)

I know Whit & LVB & I will drive up together, so our arrival will be heavily dictated by when Whit can get out on Friday.

  • I just did a quick Expedia search and it looks like Jeffersonville area hotels are between $70-$85/night and downtown Columbus hotels are between $85-$100.  I didn't check Easton but I'd imagine there are some very close.  I know it's close to the airport and hotels there run shuttles to Easton.
  • Stack, is there a website with stuff about the downtown area like that Easton one that abbalish posted?

  • Just popping back in to confirm that there are Easton hotels.  As part of the complex, there's a Hilton, a Courtyard and a Residence Inn, and there's a Hampton a really quick drive away.

Downtown/Arena District is nice too.  There's a Buca di Beppo there, which could be fun with a big group, and a bunch of bars.

    I am up for anything!
  • Cincy is 90 minutes from Louisville.  I think C-bus is another hour, hour & a half past that?

  • Yea, Louisville definitely isn't very close.  Cincinnati could be a daytime trip from Columbus but any farther south is pushing it a little.
  • www.experiencecolumbus.com is another good site for things that are going on and places to stay around here.
