Gooooooood moinin!

Re: Gooooooood moinin!

  • Morning!

We didn't do too much this weekend -- moved the new (to us) furniture into the apartment and had a BBQ at my parents' house.  But FI and I both have today off, so we're relaxing for the day.

How was your weekend?  Did you end up going to the party or staying in?

  • Ah ha... peoples not be working today.  That's why it's quiet around here!

Congrats on the new furniture! :)  That's lovely.

We stayed in, thank god.  I got an email with a final count of people attending, and fully a third of them were kids. *shiver*
  • Thanks!  It's unbelievable how much nicer the apartment looks now.

*shudder* I wouldn't have wanted to go.  It sounds like you dodged a major bullet there!

  • Good morning! We went to a BBQ at a friends house and watched fireworks. I have to work today (booo) which is dumb, since the daycare's pretty much going to be empty.
  • I'm working today.  Cry

  • Good Morning!  The only thing I have planned for today is grocery shopping.  I should start packing for the move but I have all the boxes at work and I'm pretty sure the building is locked so that's a no.

Why do you have all your boxes at work?
  • Good Morning! Had a fun weekend, zoo ,hiking, motorcycle rides, and good food.
So now I'm back to work, and it's boring here.

  • Morning. I'm working from home today and annoyed with H's job. Don't get me wrong, it's a good job, and in this economy we're glad to have it, but this weekend has not been awesome.

His office only gets 5 holidays a year and this is one of them. Until someone calls in with an emergency tech support question--which they did. He worked all afternoon yesterday, only to get called back in at 2 AM. It's now 10:30 AM and he hasn't been to bed yet. And he just got called BACK in. I feel awful for him.

We receive a lot of packages so I was going to use the boxes there that are free instead of buying some.  The boxes that office paper comes in have handles and lids and are perfect for moving stuff.

Oooh, I get it.  I thought you meant your stuff was there.  LOL... I don't think the coffee took effect this morning.

Wow, he has to be exhausted. So sorry your weekend got screwed up, and hope your DH gets some rest soon.

  • Thanks, kd. I hope so too. I wonder how helpful he can even be when he's this tired.
  • Good morning!  Weekend was uneventful, except for some family-related stress that I'm trying to  handle.  I'm about to take the kids on a 3-day camping trip (not really camping-we rented a cottage) where rain & thunderstorms are predicted each and every day.  Fun times.
  • Man, Opal, that's brutal.  I hope he gets some of that time back??
  • Yeah, I hope so, Amoro. They get so little time off already, and now this? I hope they give him  a free 3-day weekend some other time.

OWN, that sounds like fun! I hope the weather holds up for you.

I think I would prefer a cottage to a tent with thunderstorms predicted. At least you have room to move, and dont have to make the fun trek to the bathroom!

    Take some board games.

  • Morning!  I'm off today - gotta love being a federal employee!  We've had a really nice, low-key weekend so far.  On Saturday night we ordered in Japanese food and drank wine and watched a movie, and last night we had a couple of friends over for pizza and night swimming.  Today I really need to finish going through my closet to get rid of stuff to donate because the foundation is coming tomorrow morning to pick it up.  But all I want to do is lie out by the pool again.  And maybe go outlet shopping.  We'll see.
  • Good morning! I'm off today. Last night I went down to my office to watch the fireworks as we have a pretty good view of the National Mall from there. There's also a hotel directly across the street from the office and there were a man and a woman walking around their room completely naked. It's hard to say whether that or the fireworks were the better show.
  • Manda, hahahaha.  Awesome.
KD & Opal:  it should be fine; we're bringing board games and the campground has some scheduled activities for the kids.  Unfortunately, we're staying in a "sleeper cabin," that doesn't have its own bathroom.  Still - it beats a tent!
