Hangovers go here.

How did all of your New Year's pan out?

Mine was fantastic. The place we went for dinner was freakin' awesome and the food was to die for. We had baked brie, salads with blueberry dressesing, chicken stuffed with havarti with a champagne vaniilla sauce, Scott had Beef Remoulade, and a raspberry infused chocolate torte. Oh. My. God. AND a 1 dollar corkage fee per bottle. We had 2 bottles. Such an awesome deal to bring your own booze.

Then board games with friends was beyond fun. We got home at 3, and now I'm (im)patiently waiting for the pizza place to open. 20 minutes and counting....

  • Mine was really good. We had dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant, then we went to see the new Sherlock Holmes (which was awesome!). Then we made a late-night run to Wal-mart, then came home and just relaxed.
  • Either my eyes are playing tricks on me, or you (in your sig) just blinked at me. (I swear I'm not drunk/hungover.)

  • Instead of new year's celebrating, we went to my in-laws to finally celebrate the christmas we missed because of the big winter storm.

We went, we ate, we emerged heavily gifted.
  • 3???  That was like barely 7 hours ago and you're already up among the living?

  • It was bizarre! I stared at the picture for a few seconds afterwards just in case.

As for NYE, mine was boring. That food sounds delicious!!

  • Bee! That was almost 8 hours ago!! I'm not one for sleeping.

  • I went to bed with a headache but woke up hangover free.  DH made the most amazing duck ever.  He was/is sick though so we were in bed before midnight.
  • No hangovers here, but I am sitting here watching H in MY kitchen trying to heat up leftovers.

I'm also trying very hard to not jump and just do it myself.

  • I've never been able to eat duck.

I will not be moving off the couch today.

  • No hangovers for me, although I saw a lot of people last night who will be having hangovers.

FI and I spent our New Year's Eve in Vegas, and it has been a blast. During the day yesterday we went to the Stratosphere so that FI could get shot up in the air while I enjoyed the view, then played penny slots and wandered around. Last night, though, was super fun walking up and down the strip, making fun of some doomsdayers standing out on the streets with signs and yelling at us all for being sinners and adulterers, people watching, getting my picture taken with replicas of Roman statues at Caesar's Palace, and finally watching fireworks shot off from eight different casinos. Not a day I'm going to forget quickly.

a digital picture frame, pampered chef casserole dish, a london fog peacoat in red, lottery scratch-offs (yay! I won $12), rosette irons, a silver necklace, a labelmaker, and these "christmas village" type lighted buildings that are replicas of our wedding church and reception hall.  Totally excited!
  • My friends and I went through at least 5 bottles of wine.  That's not counting the prosecco at midnight.  The car ride back was a little rough.  I had to keep telling myself not to hurl.  Stupid winding roads.  H had me stay home while he took the friends to the airport. I have no idea what time he went to bed, but I was passed out by 4:30-ish.  Then I woke up at 1:30! Woot!
  • Im not really hung over, just feel groggy and sore. My back hurts for some reason, not a lot but its stiff. im getting old!

I really want to eat well today but I would have to do dishes in order to accomplish that and i dont FEEL like it.
  • Nice, Anna!!

Momo, oh dear god. Are you hung over? What do you do ever there if you are? There's no mcD's or papa johns. I'd be at a loss!

I'm glad you're loving Vegas, sarah! I hate las vegas. Hate it. Everything about it, I hate.

  • We had family game night with my parents, brother and SIL, aunt and uncle, and cousin and her H and 3 year old.  We took Beatles Rockband over and it was hysterical.  You should have seen W (the 3 year old)!  He was dancing and singing in the microphone and was just the cutest thing ever!

  • Hehe fischy, I guess I can understand that. It hits a lot of my art history bones, though. In a nerdy way, Vegas encompasses a lot of the types of issues that interest me the most.

  • I'm here, headache free. I am almost convinced that it wasn't actually a hangover, but an allergic reaction to the stupid cat who WON'T stay off the bed. Once I got up it was gone.

NYE was pretty quiet for us. My girls and I worked the church soup kitchen last night, girls ate a shitton of chocolate ice cream, each had a teeny tiny bit of champagne with a lot of OJ, my husband actually made it home before midnight so we actually got to share a New Year's kiss, and he's already back at work.
  • That's awesome Sarah! So many people love it, and I just don't get it.

I've been there a number of times, and I just can't get into it. It's busy, it's skanky, I hate shopping, it's loud... Yeah. I suck at Vegas.

  • I guess I can explain by saying that I just wrote a 22-page research paper on the Nashville Parthenon, and I was the one who picked that topic :)

I like loud noises, and flashy lights, and ridiculous people doing ridiculous things, and snarking about girls whose skirts are too short, and replicas of famous statues in odd places, and Egyptomania... basically, everything that Las Vegas is.

Nope, not hung over.  I drank about a litre of water before I went to bed. :) There is McD's here, but I don't think it's open today.  We stopped by there on the way back from Florence the other day, and it was crazy expensive.  4 people, 27 euros.  That's about 45 dollars.
  • It throbs.....oooh how it throbs!

  • THAT is ridiculous, Mo!

The pizza guy should be here at 11:45. Twenty minutes to go. I called at 11:00.01. I'm sure they knew I was hung over.

  • Man, I'd love some Papa John's right now.  But I'm so pizza'd and pasta'd out, it's ridiculous.  We ate for literally 5 hours yesterday. FIVE. That, more than anything, is probably why I'm not hungover. haha

    That's what she said!

The thing I hate worst about a hangover is the knowledge that I brought it on myself.
  • I wish I ate for 5 hours yesterday.

  • Hi Ladies!

No hangover here, but I'm definitely a little tired right now. We had a great time last night eating our weight in Japanese food and then  rocking out to Beatles Rock band. I tried the drums for the first time last night and I didn't suck as bad as I thought I would.
  • No hangover here since I was the DD last night.  We went to dinner, and I'm sad to say I passed out in bed at 11:30.  I was so tired.

We have declared today pajama day and aren't doing anything, though, which sounds fantastic right now.  We're going to catch up on our TV-watching and make homemade pizza and chill.

  • I've got a mild hangover, which sucks cause I only had 3 capt cokes.  This not going out anymore because of a shiity work schedule sucks; I'm turning into a lightweight.

We were planning on going out with a bunch of friends out of town, but we started getting the cold shoulder feeling from them.  Said there wasn't anything going on via text, but FB messages made it sound otherwise, so whatever.  We went out by ourselves to a bar, had a few, had a glass of champagne, went home, went to bed.

Vegas is good in small doses.  I could never live there, but I can definately visit periodically.  Too busy, I'd go crazy after a few weeks.
