Whatcha up to?

My younger brother proposed to his girlfriend yesterday, so that's exciting. My mom didn't react as well as he would have liked, but I think she's warming up to the idea. It's probably because they've only known each other for 5 months, but she can get over it.

Anywho, that was just a mini-F/U to a post I made about 2 weeks ago.

What is everyone up to tonight?

DH and I are watching Legend of the Seeker on netflix online.  We'll have dinner in a few and then enjoy Monday night tv.  I need to do laundry and pack, since we're leaving tomorrow night.  Fun.

  • Sucrets - She was! I asked how he did it and he said "nonchalantly at Texas Roadhouse." I had told him that he didn't need to give a mushy, long speech if he didn't want to because chances are she wouldn't remember it anyway, so I think he just went with it. He got her a white gold ring, princess cut solitaire w/ 2 small side stones. I STILL haven't seen a good picture of it!

  • Just had some leftover Outback, forcing the little pup to nap, reading blogs, and that's about it. It's been a blah day. All I care about is that I'm in my PJs.

    Congrats to your lil bro!
  • Scoetto - DH proposed to me after 8 months of dating, but had the ring after 6. I told my brother "When you know, you know" and told him not to let what others say get to him.

Most of the time the couples drive me insane.  This couple seems a little normal.

  • Trying to find something on TV to watch while listening to DH constantly sniffle because he has a head cold.  I'd really like to just go to sleep and stay asleep until Thursday morning.
  • About to leave work. So I can go cook dinner and do schoolwork... joy.

I remember that post. Congrats to your brother.

  • GG, exactly! The ring sounds really pretty too. We had our first meal as H&W at Texas Roadhouse. You said he proposed on Friday? Our 1 year was yesterday :)

Lynda, I love when the couples are local. They say funny things about the area that I've never seen/realized. Sometimes I wonder how much they pull outta their @ss to make it sound good.
  • I just saw again that he proposed yesterday. How sweet :)
  • Congrats to your brother, ggmae! And props for the Texas Roadhouse (my husband's current place of employment, yay!)
  • Im drinking an after dinner tea, just did the dishes and im going to get started on my christmas cards soon (thats all I do now a days). Its lame but I want to put in Gangs of NewYork, even though I just watched it on tv lastnight. Its just such a good movie!
  • I'm kind of hating myself for eating BK.  Especially since I think my intestines are eating each other right now.

They are in DC a lot, aren't they? So you must think it's funny.   I know House Hunters has been down here, but I have yet to see the episode.  I love to see what they say about the area.

Sometimes I want to just slap them.  One girl cried because  she could not understand why her DH did not want to spent another $10k for an extra sink in the master bedroom.  They were overbudget already with of course a 0% down loan.

  • Eating dinner, doing a sudoku, watching TV (think I'm switching to a Hammer Dracula film instead, at least until 8), and, well, that's it. Oh yeah - looking at how cutely pitiful my dog looks, lying on an electric blanket, under her blanket, asleep.  That's a new one.

I have not had a whoopie pie in a very long time.  It's brings back memories.
