Re: Favors

  • I like the message cookies better !
    Tongue out
  • Cookies. I would never get around to making the ice cream, and wouldn't be that confident about the results, though I do think it's cool in concept. It's a lot of work to make those favors that maybe 10% of your guests would actually try to use.
  • Cookies are ready to eat, so I'm going to go with those.  Like Sparrow said, I'd probably never get around to trying it.

  • That's a good point about not getting around to it...the cookies will probably be less expensive as well
  • Dude, I MAKE decorated iced sugar cookies and vote the ice cream thing. that is awesome. And I love how they point out that even your hotel guests can use it as it only needs ice. Interactive and tasty.

  • Ice cream. Most people won't use the cookie cutter.

I think she intends to bake them. I could be wrong.

You're going to give them baked cookies, right?

  • Those ice cream jars are adorable. I think they are much more unique than the cookies. So I vote for those.

  • I'm pretty sure she means to bake the cookies.  Those cutters are an interchangable set so those would be REALLY expensive favors.

I think both are great but more people would probably like the cookies.  I would think the ice cream was a cool idea but would be one of those who would never get around to making it.

  • i think its funny that the message cookies description says

"...and a dishwasher-safe mesh bag for easy cleaning and storing. Hand-wash... "
so which is is dishwasher or hand wash?

in all seriousness, i would go with the cookie. the icecream is more unique but the cookies have a more likely chance of being enjoyed, no work involved on the guest side of things, seem more affordable and practical. also i have made ice cream with rocksalt and ziplocks and it never worked out well. salt always leaked into the icecream.

  • Home made ice cream always tastes like ass, in my experience.  Cookies.
  • C is for Cookie, that's good enough for me
C is for Cookie, that's good enough for me
C is for Cookie, that's good enough for me
Oh Cookie, Cookie, Cookie starts with C

A round cookie with one bite out of it looks like a C
A round doughnut with one bite out if it also looks like a C
But it is not as good as a cookie
Oh, and the moon sometimes looks like a C,
    But you can't eat that!

So, C is for Cookie, that's good enough for me
C is for Cookie, that's good enough for me
C is for Cookie, that's good enough for me
Oh, Cookie, Cookie, Cookie starts with C
  • I vote for cookies too.

  • Go with the cookies.  They will be cheaper and easier to make, and I think the guests will appreciate that they are ready to eat!

  • COOKIES.  OMG, I want those cookie cutters!

In fact, I want a cookie cutter that says, "C IS FOR COOKIE!"  Yes, I do.

The ice cream in a jar is cool too, but a lot of people won't take something like that and if they do, a lot won't actually make it.

But I think I might look into it as stocking stuffers for Christmas this year!

  • how does that make ice cream in a jar?  Yeah, I would so never do it.  That would hit the trash pretty quick or be left behind.

Cookies on the other hand would be eaten at the reception.
  • i think the cookies are very cute.
