I just thought I should say hello since we share a date and almost share a color scheme... and I'm going to go change my bright shiny new ticker before I disturb myself any further with coincidental similarities.

Hey Morfudd, I was just thinking the same thing! Too funny. Yes, I'm super excited, as I'm sure you are as well! I think ours is a popular day: I know of like 5 other people getting married on our day, no joke! Pretty awsome imo, it's gotta be because we're so fabulous!

How did you come up with Purple and cream? (Is that the right shade?) We were trying to go for purple-and-orange for the sense of west coast wildflowers, but it's hard to do purple and orange and not look like a sports team.

I know, one of my best friends from undergrad is getting married on the same day. Our guest lists don't overlap (aside from our friendship, we moved in very different circles,) but I'm sad I don't get to attend his wedding, and vice-versa.

Well, I was really neutral about the whole 'color scheme' idea for a while. FI wanted blue but I wasn't too crazy about it, and we even contemplated just doing black and white, but that seemed a little too bland. Then I saw a picture in a magazine with this flower:




and decided to do dark purple (the purple on my profile isn't exactly accurate but it works well enough), and light yellow. Like, pale baby yellow. However, that was really confusing to too many people, and kind of hard to find things in a shade of yellow that wasn't, well, "YELLOW", so I ended up doing ivory instead. My dress is off-white, so it works out really well.

And thats probably more of an explanation than you wanted/cared about, but oh well ; who can I gush to if not my knotties??

That's pretty much exactly how we ended up with purple-and-orangey-pinky-cream. Although I haven't been neurotic, so some things don't quite match. Oh well, I have no desire to win them all.

I'm looking forward to pictures!

I totally understand, my things don't all match either. And to top it all off my mom thinks the dark purple and ivory are too close to black and white and insists on throwing in lavender everywhere. I really hate lavender but it's not worth the fight, so I mostly just let it go lol!

 I can't wait to see ur pictures too!!

We don't have any Lavender, I think... our big purple-related struggle was due to the fact that the Catholic church uses purple vestments in Lent. We wanted to ensure we didn't use the wrong shade and look like we were fasting and miserable.
