Hi everyone!
My fiance and I have decided to blend our last names together(which means we are taking the first two letters of his last name and the last three letters of my last name to make a new last name that we will both take-sounds crazy, but the name is really nice). We are doing this because his last name is always made fun of and although he is fine with it, I am a high school teacher who will be called, "Mrs. ******" the rest of my life and both of us don't want our future children to go through the name teasing that my fiance went through. We wanted to include his name in it somehow though, because he didn't want to completely take my name either. So we thought this was a really cool way to blend our names together because it represents the blending of our lives as well!
Anyways, we are not sure how to go about telling HIS side of the family that we are not taking their name AND how do we let the guests that are coming to our wedding know about this so it's not a huge surprise to everyone? I don't want my future husband having to go through all kinds of critcism on our wedding day about him being a "pansy" because he changed his name.
