Engagement photos

We were trying to decide last night if it's better to go them taken fairly soon, or wait until fall when leaves are turning. Which do you think would be better? I think fall colors would be gorgeous but assuming these pictures will be up at our May wedding and around the house yearround, it may look odd to have them looking season specific. I also could be over thinking this :)

Re: Engagement photos

  • I think you're overthinking it but of the choices, I picked Fall. We did ours in the fall and I love them so I'm also biased. You would get beautiful pictures from either choice!

I vote fall. You can ask for a variety of settings so that it isn't all leaves all the time. We have several really nice photos in front of brick and stone walls. You can't tell the season in them. I'd also reconsider summer because of the heat and drought conditions. I know in some areas of the midwest the grass is struggling. Dead grass =/= pretty backdrop.
  • I think you are overthinking it. If you want pretty fall colors in your E pics..then wait for fall. I doubt they all will be "fall" looking anyways. No one at your wedding is going to think it's weird that your pics were taken in the fall.

  • I say fall pictures since your wedding will be spring/summer pictures.  That way when you have them up in  your house they're a variety of scenary.  I don't think it makes a difference about them being fall theme at your wedding.
  • Overwhelming fall votes, woo! Thanks guys
  • Yeah we took fall engagment pics and the colors were gorgeous. Just expect the color to come earlier this year due to most of the country being so hot and spring coming early.

Another plus: you won't (hopefully) be sweating balls like you would in the summer.
