Not sure if RSVP on invitation is proper

I am on a strict budget and trying to save money on stamps. Is it tacky to have RSVP at bottom of invitation, such as, putting email address or phone number oppose to seperate RSVP

Re: Not sure if RSVP on invitation is proper

  • If you're going to do this, I'd put a phone number vs. your email address since some of your guests may not have computer access.

If there's room I'd do both.

Though given how cheap the business cards are from Vista Print I think that's the route I would go, if for no other reason than keeping the look of your invitation clean and uncluttered.

  • My invites went out last week.  At the bottom of them I asked guests to RSVP by a certain date by either calling the specific phone number or at our wedding website.  In a week we've had about 20 guests utilize the website and 1 use the phone.  Also, the number of visits to my wedding website have seriously increased in the last week, so I'm very pleased with my decision to save money on stamps.
  • If you're doing vistaprint, you could print your rsvp information on the back. That's what I was planning on doing (we're only having an Indian wedding now, so we'll use resources there, not sure).  I was going to put the rsvp information for a phone and internet option. This way the front of it wasn't cluttered, but I didn't have to order all that new paper stuff or worry about it getting too heavy to use a standard stamp.

  • If you are on a strict budget, then I would assume you are printing your own invitations to save money, rather than buying professionally printed invitations.
If you are doing this, then just order the free business cards from Vistaprint and put the RSVP info on them.
If you are ordering custom invitations and then trying to cut costs by eliminating the number of stamps you need to buy, maybe you should rethink that decision.
