Question: My fiance and I are paying for our own wedding. My mom, however, is very nosy about our budget. She keeps asking pointed questions about how much I'm spending on my dress, venue, etc. When I say that I do not wish to discuss it, she is relentless. The other day, I was showing her a collage I had made for myself, to give her an idea of the wedding theme I am planning. I had typed the price of a wedding cake topper, as a reminder to myself for when I'm ready to order it, and she commented, "Oh, that's X amount of dollars?"
Any advise to get her to stop being so nosy? I'm especially nervous about how to tell my bridal gown consultant the price range I want to be within, when my mom is going to be present. I really don't want my mom to know my price range, because she will make negative comments and ruin the appointment.
