[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Skin ladies... : I had to keep switching because I would have allergic reactions to the pills, or they would interfere with my interstitial cystitis (a medical condition I have).  The only thing I was able to stay on for a full two months was Keflex, and it didn't work.  Right now I am on Ampicillan but just started it a week ago.  <strong>The ones I was allergic to were Minocycline, Doxycicline</strong>, and Septra. This doctor was one of two that takes my state of Fl insurance, but my mother had said she heard good things about their office...

Why did the doctor give you Doxycycline if you were already allergic to Minocycline? (or vise versa). They're both in the tetracyclines class, so if you're allergic to one, you'd be allergic to the other. For instance, I'm allergic to Augmentin, which is a penicillin. So that means I can't have penicillin, amoxicillin, ampicillin or even clarithromycin since that's a 'cousin' of it. <div>
</div><div>I'd be more concerned over the fact that your doctor & pharmacist didn't know better. I also suggest being more gentile on your face. I read a lot on acne.org about how to treat your face. A lot of times we're doing a lot of damage by being too aggressive.</div>
  • I use nothing but honey now for facial cleansing. I tried the oil cleansing and it didn't really do much for me, but I find the honey makes my skin softer and now that I'm not stripping my face of natural oils I'm not overproducing oil. I love it and I'll never go back to using the chemical stuff.
