What type of font for Invitations?

What type of font did you use on your invitations? I need to pick out a font.  I'm not sure if I want to stick with what I have on my monogram or choose something else for the invitations.  So I need some inspiration please! TIA!

  • We used Scriptina and some sort of all caps font for most of the writing. PIB of my invites, but I don't remember the name of the all caps font.

  • Edwardian Script and Segoe (in all caps). Originally I wanted Jasmin UPS or UPC... can't remember... instead of Segoe but when I brought it to the print shop they didn't have that font. Whatever, they still look good.

  • We used Champagne and Limousines for our headings and I forget what the smaller fonts were.
  • I haven't gotten quite that far, but I really like University Roman.
  • didot and artists script.

  • Wingdings.
  • We used Copperplate Gothic (all caps) for the main text and Liorah for our names (this was through the website we ordered from).

I have Copperplate Gothic on my computer, but Liorah would have been $30 or so to buy, not worth it.  So for our inserts we will use Scriptina (which I love and used on our Save the Dates).

  • Shelley-Allegro Script

It was easier to read than most scripts, but still elegant

Our wording was in Murray, which was script-y, but easy to read, IMO (straight up-and-down - can't remember what that kind of font is called). We used Shelley Andante (or Shelley Allegro, can't remember) for our names, which is more swirly.

I love Albermarle Swash. I used it on my sister's baby shower invite with one of the cursive fonts- can't remember the name.
  • Originally I wanted Copperplate Light for most of the wording with Zapfino for the names, but my FI thinks Copperplate looks too generic.  I like it.  We're going to have to figure this out soon.  Sigh.

Have you checked out dafont.com?  I really like Arabella and Heather.
  • We used Freebooter Script for our headings, and Champagne & Limosines for the text.
  • We used Papyrus. We've gotten lots of compliments on it.
