Re: Changing Reception Venue

  • You could have the annoucement post ceremony for all the guest that attended the ceremony. and you could hire someone to stand at the old venue to tell any misdirected guest of the new location. You could give this person a picture of the crazy ex so that he won't tell her the info.

  • I agree with Kelly. The OP had previously stated that if she were to add these two guests that it would have been a breach of contract and they would have had to draw up an entire new contract, so wouldn't that be the same if she had to change the venue.. In which case she would be able to give them a larger guest list. Sounds like all her problems could have been solved in one quick swoop... (Other than notifying everyone of the change, of course...)

Now, I do slightly feel bad for this woman... It seems like this ex has done nothing but cause problems for her, but also I feel that this woman has LET the ex cause problems. Had she just said "If you show up to the wedding, I have "beefy friend #1, #2, and #3" here ready to throw you out. Try me!" And went along with all the plans as she had been. But, instead she's changed everything in the last two months before her wedding and been up in arms and stressed trying to make everything perfect and avoid an issue... IMO, had you just kept things the way they were, the ex probably wouldn't have tried too hard to crash, and if she had, you probably would not have even noticed.
