Crazy person on the bump...

The girl doesn't want to be pregnant anymore because she doesn't like the gender of her child.

I haven't read the thread yet, but that is very sad.

Unfortunately, I don't think that they come with a money back policy.

  • And having just read the responses there, I can't believe that anyone on P&E has ever been called mean! Seriously, I know the thread is ridiculous, but these girls aren't afraid to say so!

You know, the sad thing is that one of my aunts was actually like this to a degree. When she found out her third child was also a boy, she was really upset about it. We were told not to ask her anything about the baby, because she was apparently so emotional about the fact that this was her last child which meant that she was not having a girl. I was still a kid myself, but that didn't stop me thinking it was completely ridiculous.

I swear I get caught up in just reading the tickers. It's truly an experience - some of them are really sad.
  • Where is P2, the sig police, when you need her? Holy crap.

And - I mean, I'd like a girl too one day. But mostly, I just want a baby. A healthy baby. And to not puke continuously while pregnant, which one of my friends did. She lost weight for the first 4 or 5 months.

I just don't understand people like this.

  • I wouldn't call that "woman" crazy.... I'd call her amazingly selfish and ungrateful. And if I knew her in real life, I'd slap her senseless
  • On one hand, I find that woman to be completely ungrateful and can't believe she would say she wishes she wasn't pregnant and that it never would have happened. I feel bad for her child and seriously hope this is a fleeting thing and she doesn't emotionally damage her son.

On the other hand (if it's not MUD), I feel bad for her and other people with these feelings because I think sometimes they honestly have some psychological issues and/or depression that they have no control over.
  • I have read the thread either, but it would suck being that child because you'd always be seen as the one that was supposed to be a girl and wasn't.

Talk about a lifetime of suckitude.

  • Ew.

So A) her husband is a big dickwad.

    B) There are some women over there with FOUR miscarriages. That's so sad. I don't know that I would still be trying going through that four times. Actually, I know I wouldn't be.

She was back at work one week after she lost her first child- she said keeping herself busy was helping her, which I can understand, but yeah... So terrible, and I've no clue how she pulled through all of that.

Anyway, how are you dear Fische? You're online rather late!

  • I'm online super early! ;) It's 540 here! I'm good! How are you?

I just have today to get through and then it's home for the holidays! YAY!

  • Oh awesome! So I gather you're heading to work soon?

I am well! It's past my bedtime (almost 10pm, shock horror!) and I'm getting tired/the glass of wine is hitting me. We've been on holidays since Friday, but finally cleaned the house today and finished our christmas shopping. Making sushi and some other apps for a christmas eve party tomorrow (christmas eve already?!). What are your plans for tomorrow/holidays?

  • wow... she is disgusting.

  • Yeah, I head to work at about 8, so I have awhile yet!

We're heading to my hometown tonight. We spend Christmas eve with my dad, Christmas day with my mom and the day after Christmas with Scott's family.

Looks like there is giong to be some CRAZY snow though, so we're hoping that it doesn't interfere in our plans! What are you doing?

And yes salty. That woman is deplorable.

  • I only made it through the first page, but this was the best response by far:

"That's funny, because I just told your baby that you are his/her mother and it wasn't what he/she wanted and he/she totally doesn't even want to be in you anymore and wished it never would have happened. What a coincidence."
I do agree that it's really sad if this isn't MUD because she obviously has some psychological problems.

One of my coworkers and his wife had to bury a stillborn that had about 2 weeks until the due date. (Recently - so it's been a crappy holiday for them) When I found out, I had to go to the ladies room and tear up a little thinking about it. I can't believe how selfish that woman is.
  • There have actually been articles written about women who even AFTER birth struggle for years that the gender of their child isn't exactly what they were wanting.

As someone who was recently told that she has a fertility problem, I want to slap people who do that.

  • jAww thanks guppy!

I'll find out more in a month regarding my options. It's not "horrible" but needless to say, I may have to work on my deflection over the holiday meals.

No kidding. My mother had seven including a set of twins (she ended up having three healthy children in total). My grandmother had a dozen of them before she went on certain drugs (she then had five healthy children but the drugs had other long term effects). Yikes.

Anyway, I have always said that if that was ever my experience, I would be going the adoption route fairly quickly.

  • I'm late to this discussion, but I feel so bad for this baby. I have always known my parents wanted a son instead of a daughter, and it seriously affected me while I was growing up. Hopefully, the OP will either get over it or never mention it to her child.

I know families that have a ton of kids, all of one gender, then the youngest will be of the opposite gender. Like a friend of mine in high school, who was the youngest of 4 girls... then had a younger brother. I always wonder if people in that situation think, "Wow, I bet my parents wish I had been a boy. And if I had been, maybe they never would have had my brother." NOT that her parents said or implied that, by any means. FI's cousin is the same way - 4 boys, then a girl, who ended up being severely premature, so I think she'll be their last one.
