thank you notes

So my aunt threw me a shower the day before our wedding, so that people from out of town could attend without the extra traveling, and we just got back from the honeymoon and I am getting started on thank you's. Do I write separate notes to the same person for shower gifts and wedding gifts? or cover them both in one note?
Two notes seem awkward, redundant and wasteful, but I dont want people to think I am cutting corners because I really do appreciate their generocity. And I don't know if it will be awkward since wedding gifts are given to the couple and shower gifts were just for me.

In your case, since the two events were back-to-back, I'd say one TY will be enough. Just make sure to thank them for each gift separately in the note.

Yes, I concur.  Make sure to mention each gift in the note and that will be the personal touch that means you're not cutting corners!

Ditto both PP's - I think you're good as long as you mention each separately. I'd find it weird to get two thank you note, actually lol.

I agree. Since they were so close, I think one TY would be okay. Just make sure you are specific about the gift they got you so they know you know which one is which.
