ladies beware - horrible bridal salon experience!

I was really looking forward to my appointment at Pronovias...only to be completely let down. It was actually pretty horrible. Never in my life have I felt so rushed while shopping. My consultant, Carmel (she used to be on say yes to the dress and now apparently works at pronovias) would put me in a dress and have me back out of it in before I could even tell what it looked like on. I found one dress that I really did like and before she even put in on me, another consultant yelled into our room that her bride had wanted to try on the same dress. The other consultant then proceeded to wait right outside of my dressing room while Carmel quickly threw the dress on me and in less than a minute (LITERALLY!), had me take it back off - she never even clipped the back to show me how it would actually fit. It was the only dress that I had tried there that I really had a positive reaction to and I didn't even get a full minute to see it on myself! At the end of the appointment, Carmel left me to take the last dress I tried on off myself - I'm not a hard customer to deal with and I really don't ask much from sales associates but to try and get out of a fitted lace wedding dress yourself is a little ridiculous - especially since I'm 4'10" and was doing all I could not to step on and rip the samples! The best part though was when I went to hand her the dress back, she told me to just throw it on the floor! WHAT?!?!

Out of the four bridal salons I went to in search of my wedding dress, Pronovias was the only salon I walked out of completely unsatisfied. Even if I had found my dream dress there, I wouldn't have purchased it. My mother also wanted to purchase her mother-of-the-bride dress there from their Fiesta line but no longer will due to the horrible experience we had.

To make it even worse, we did call to speak to a manager about our service only to be on hold for 15 minutes and then told that there was no manager available. We tried calling again two days later and were told this time that it was the managers day off - I find it extremely hard to believe that there is only one manager in a store of that size (I have 15 years of retail experience, 8 of those as a manager, which is why I find this so hard to believe). Next we sent an email to the manager and two weeks later have still not had any type of response what so ever.

Sorry this was so long but it really was one of the worst shopping experiences I've ever had and I just wanted to warn other brides out there about their lack of customer service!

To end on a good note though, I did find THE dress- which I purchased at Mark Ingram, where I had a fabulous experience!

Sucks about your experience but glad you found your dress! I've heard good things about Mark Ingram and the service there.

i can't believe you allowed her to treat you that way!

i would have insisted that she clip the dress the right way and give me time to take a good look at it...and you mom said nothing???

anyway, good that you found what you wanted elsewhere and were treated well.

Wow I am surprised you had that experience. I just went there on Saturday and loved my experience! But I'm sorry they rushed you, no bride should have to feel rushed. I fell in love with a dress at Pronovias but it was a 12k Elie Saab and my budget is like half that! I guess Pronovias bummed us both out but for different reasons.

I want to ADD that Carmel was utterly awful to me too at Pronovias, and I was treatled wonderfully and had the most delightful shopping experience at ALL other salons, before and after.  She asked me after I'd tried on one or two gowns whether I'd found any I'd liked yet at any other stores, and I said (honestly) maybe one or two elsewhere.  Well, that was it.  She decided then and there that I wasn't going to be a Pronovias bride, and after trying on the remaining couple that she'd brought in my room, she disappeared saying she had to go to another floor to get the one(s) just right for me and.... I suspected she was just going to kill time, have a smoke or some coffee ... returned empty handed, saying she couldn't find anything! Are you kidding me.... in a store full of dresses? And dare I say it... I look pretty good in beautiful white gowns; in fact, they were made for me lol ! I hate when a woman loses her job, but it's no surprise she was fired from Kleinfeld.
