Wedding day mani/pedi

Tell me about the colors you chose to wear on your nails on your wedding day. Embarassingly, I have never had a mani/pedi. I'm going for my first one today and I'll get the colors that I'll use for the wedding to test them out... but I need to decide first!

On my hands I think I'll do a natural American manicure. Feet I don't know. The wedding colors are green and blue and I'm just not into that.

Re: Wedding day mani/pedi

  • french manicure on nails, a pearly pink on toes.
  • I'm doing my very first one ever on Friday!

I was going to do a French Manicure on my fingernails, but I spaced out and cut my nails (I usually have them VERY short) last week :( - I dont' think they're long enough to do much with now.

My toes are going to be bright red (but you can't see them in the white dress, and then I'm changing to the traditional qipao for the ceremony - which is bright red - and my 4" gold pumps have a peep toe - so you will be able to see it at the reception :))

  • I did a pale pink on my fingers and a hot pink on my toes. (I wore closed toed shoes, that was my fun color to show off on the beach on my HM).

  • Just french tips on my fingers and red on my toes. H's favorite color is red, so that's why I picked it.
  • I had an American on my hands and hot pink on my feet. I don't care for French manicures, and it would have looked way too white with my champagne dress anyway.
  • French mani and pedi.

Thought about red on the toes, but FI thinks the French pedi is sexy.

  • I had a french manicure that I didn't like, and on my toes I had a pearl polish. that I also didn't really like. so don't listen to me :)
  • Is American manicure just a toned down French manicure?  Because if so, that's what I had.  It was a softer white and pink as opposed to the bright white tips.  And I did a champagne color on my toes, but no one really saw them anyway.

  • I've never done a mani/pedi either and am sort of terrified.  I'm not sure why, new expereince jitters and the idea of strangers touching/judging my feet? I have a feeling I will end up going with a french manicure cause it seems like it would be closest what I'm used to.

  • I'm getting an american manicure on my hands, and most likely doing my own toenails with something neutral like a brownish pink.

I had to use the google to look this up. That's what I always want when I say 'french' manicure but they do the white part too chunky. I feel sooo stooopid for not knowing this terminology before. *hangs head in shame*

  • Yep, an American is a light nude/pink tip; not as much contrast as a French manicure.
  • I think I will do a bright color (reddish or hot pinkish) on my hands and feet.  I love brights so this fits my personality more than a neutral color.
  • Vals, I didn't know until my wedding day. Somebody at the shop told me about it and said it was a softer look than French and I was like, "Yeah, I want that." When I was in my friend's wedding, I picked a nude to avoid a French and it looked like barfy beige paint on my nails all day. If only I'd known then...

Pirate, I'd go with the American if you're looking for natural. I'd assume they do American pedis too.

  • French on both, but that's just my personal style for everyday aside from the occasional pink on my toes.
  • I can't believe so many people have never had mani/pedi's before!! Get "spa" pedi's, then they massage your legs and it feels great!

French manicures last about 10 seconds on my nails before the white part chips. I chose a pale pink nail polish for my fingernails that made them just look really shiny and natural. I had hot pink on my toes.

I do not like people touching my feet, but I suck it up for a pedicure. Don't get the callous remover on your first time.

  • I can't really help. I'm doing deep red because that's a wedding color.

  • I did a really dark purple on my toes, because I wore closed toed shoes but we were at the beach so they had to look cute.
My fingernails were OPI's bubble bath, DH picked the color. A very light shade of pick.

  • Don't worry, I had never had a mani or pedi before the wedding either. I just do them all the time myself.

I did a french manicure on both my toes and nails. I did a light pink on my toes and plain/clear on my nails.
