WWYT?

Couple has a DW with 7 guests.   After the ceremony there is a 2 hour open bar with a sushi roller and desert bar.   Then the bride and groom goes and has a dinner on the beach leaving the guests  (dinner on the beach is at the resort where everyone is staying).

Does anyone else thinks that is a little rude of the B&G?  I mean, sure they had a reception. But if people are traveling to your DW, spending big $$$$ and it's only 7 other people don't you think they should get more than just 2 hours with you?

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

    Yes.
  • Are the 7 guests going to be at the destination for awhile?  I mean, if I spent 5 days there and tons of time w/ the B&G I wouldnt care about then leaving after a 2 hour reception for some alone time.

My bf got married in mexico and after dinner they retired for the night and everyone else went to the dancing part without them.

  • I think its very rude - if people are travelling and spending extra cash for a DW, you owe them more than cake and sushi - give them some dinner.  To then go off and have dinner by yourself is very cheap and inconsiderate. I bet they did that becuase they just didn't want to spend the money for their guests.
