Caterer- Has anyone used Mark Fahrer Caters before???

Was wondering if anyone had a review on Mark Fahrer Catering in NYC or if anyone had a suggestion of a boutique catering shop they would recommend that is reasonable.

Do not use him.  I repeat.  Do not use him.  He was recently sued for providing insufficient food and beverage at a wedding and providing unprofessional and untrained staff.  I also heard that he doesn't always pay his staff.  Go with a real caterer.

Mark has made mistakes in the past, which he acknowledged to me.  I have a mutual friend who recommended him to handle our wedding, but I was hesitant. But he was true to his word. The only problem was, we ran out of vodka, and had to run to the store, but no biggy. I think his company has progressed, just my observation.

Hello, I hired Mark and his staff for my wedding on 10/10/10. We were about 50pp in a beautiful loft on broadway, around Union Square. Mark did an amazing job and I couldnt' be happier with him and his staff. He first came to our house to discuss a menu, came back a week later for a tasting and he was great from beginning to end. He came with me to pick up flowers, we went liquor shopping together and the day of the event him and his staff were simply amazing. They made my perfect day even more perfect!

Mark and his crew did a wonderful job at our event last week. We were very pleased with his service and food. His staff were great with helping us make sure the event space was left cleaner than before the event. We are glad to recommend him to anyone in need of a caterer.

Do not use Mark.  He failed to provide a sufficient amount of food and beverage at my wedding during cocktail hour and the reception.  He uses inexperienced, amateur staff.  He made many egregious mistakes, which he eventually acknowledged.  I sued Mark in NY State Supreme Court, NY County and have a DEFAULT JUDGMENT against him which I am trying to enforce.  He has EVADED all attempts by us to satisfy the judgment.  I ran a search and found out that he has another default judgment against him in another case based on allegations that he essentially runs a catering ponzi scheme.  BEWARE.
