OOT bags help...

Question 1: I am having a small 40-person wedding. All of my guests are OOT. Does every guest get a bag or does every couple (ex. 1 bag for my uncle and aunt) get a bag.

Question 2: Gable box or custom recyclable tote (1.99/bag http://www.discountmugs.com/nc/tote-bags/1096/135-inch-popular-tote-bag.htm

Thanks for your help.

Re: OOT bags help...

  • I'd probably do just a simple gift bag, personally.

I would do 1 OOT bag per couple, not PP. But maybe include doubles of things like Water bottles.
  • I think the individual/ per couple depends on what you're putting in them. If you do as Jess suggest and put multiples of things in bag then just do one per couple. It will save money on the bag/ box.

I would also do just a basic bag. People most likely wont keep the bag/ box
  • We had a DW and did one gift per hotel room and used hat boxes from www.papermart.com for the containers.  We also ordered pillow boxes and velvet bags from them.  Pics in bio under Favors ;)

  • Tote bags, and one per couple or hotel room.  MUCH easier for the hotel to manage handing out.

  • We're gonna do one per room, so some people will get their own, some will get one to split as a couple.  Those will have two of everything.

If I were you, I'd do the bag, but skip the design.  Then, they can be reused later as a general purpose shopping bag by the guests at home.  We're gonna do cool Hawaiian made bags, I just have to make a list of what to put in them and decide how big they need to be.
  • Oh, I ordered really cheap totes for ours - info in my bio.

  • Every one pukes at tulle.

We did a tripple layer of tulle and put the goodies inside and tied it with a ribbon.

Inside:  welcome letter, local maps and events, it was a wedding weeked so we included golf T times and spa times for the ladies and gents.    There was an option for a sail but no one booked it.  :(

In the guest bags were water, salt water taffy, dried cranberries, Nantucket Nectres, asprin, the usual stuff.
  • One per couple.

    So far I have:
    Hand Sanitizer
    Chapstick
    Tylenol

    now THAT's a good idea.

Do you have to have guest bags?  Almost all my guests will be OOT as well, and even 1 per family is still like 40 bags.

No, you don't have to do guest bags.  They are totally optional.

We did one per room, but when it was a couple or family, I included more water bottles, snacks, etc.  I used tote bags and several people used the totes during the wedding weekend.  The bags and everything in them were a huge hit.
