Kindle Peeps

How do you make folders on your Kindle?  Is that possible?  I don't like having pages and pages of books, I'd like to put the ones I've read into a folder so it's nice and neat.

Can you do it without hooking the Kindle up to your computer because I've never done that and it intimidates me.

Re: Kindle Peeps

  • I just click "Menu" and in it there is an option to organize or make folders.

  • When I finish a book, I click the little left arrow which makes it ask me if I want to "remove from device" and then click enter. That puts the book in my Archived Items, and to redownload it to my Kindle I just need to turn on my wifi.
  • Ok, yeah I think I got that far and I made a folder, but I don't know how to put things in it.

  • Ooooh Emily, interesting.  So maybe I could go into the last page of the ones I've read and do that?

  • If you scroll to the folder you created and click "menu" again it will give you an option to add or delete items from the folder. Then you scroll through your list of titles and click on the ones that you want to add to that folder. :)

  • It's not exactly what you want to do, but unless you see yourself urgently needing to refer back to a book you already finished and not having wifi or 3G to re-download it, it seems like it would work for cleaning up your homepage.
  • i archive everything too.  just makes it cleaner.  you can always get it back later.

  • If you click on a title, I think, it will give you the option to put it in a folder. Or just highlight it and click "down" or something. You'll figure it out. It's pretty intuitive but I can't think of how to do it at the moment.

  • use menu button to create folders (or collections). then, hover over the book title and push the cursor to the right and tell it "add to collection." I have collections ranging from Religion to Romance LOL
