Just reflecting:
I'm getting married in 31 days and I have to say I am very glad I started lurking on these boards a few months ago. I was never a Bridezilla at all BUT I did have some pre-conceived notions about wedding planning.
There are so many online articles, books, and even other wedding website forums about wedding party "duties", what material things you MUST have or basically don't even get married, and how it's YOUR day and that's all that matters (forget how your guests feel!).
I thought I was weird because my cousin who had her wedding called off a couple of years ago was always telling me how bad my friends/BMs are for not planning my wedding and finding venues for me, why am I so calm and not going off on them, etc. My BMs ALL had their dresses on time, VOLUNTEERED to help me stuff envelopes, and even planned a bachelorette party in Vegas! My FI and I both agree that was more than enough!
I LOVED planning and doing errands with just my FI. It's our wedding and I didn't WANT to ask other people to plan or do it for me. I know my FI is grateful I wasn't acting rude and crazy through out the process because he would never stand for that. Though more of a lurker, these boards really did help balance my mentality about weddings.
