Etiquette rules

Re: Etiquette rules

  • I butter my whole bread roll at once. Even at galas. GASP. I can think of worse rules to break than that one. But in my defense, I inhale break so quickly that I bet no one has time to notice. :)

[QUOTE]So, this is kind of NWR, but I HATE the fact that you are not supposed to butter your entire dinner roll at a formal dinner unless it is warm; you are instead supposed to tear off one chunk of the roll at a time, butter it, eat and repeat...NOT EFFICIENT AT ALL!!! Although since I have seriously cut down on carbs, and am mourning the loss of butter I suppose this doesn't effect me anymore...

Seriously? I never knew that. I vote lame on that piece of etiquette.

[QUOTE]I think its odd that you are not supposed to include response cards, I'm not sure if I will have them or not, I don't want to be wrong, but people often think its rude and weird not to.

Huh? Since when are response cards bad ettiquette? Or am I misunderstanding you?

It used to be that people responded on their own stationary instead of pre-stamped cards. But I don't think that makes the cards bad etiquette.

  • I love dollar dances! It's my second favorite part aside from cake! I don't know why, but I think they are funny :) People seem to hate them though ahaha!

  • The one thing that absolutely drives me crazy is the "who pays for what" aspect.. To me, give money if you can and want to, otherwise the couple pays for whatever kind of wedding they can afford by themselves. I really don't like the idea of "I'll give you money so you can do this or that with it..." give because you want to help, not because you want to plan things a different way than the engaged couple is planning things.
