Field trip!

Am I on crazy pills?

(And no, Squirrly and Dani, I am NOT encouraging a TK war with another website. Hear that, people with LJ accounts? It's just an, erm, interesting read.)

  • Sorry, I'm busy annoying SB right now and talking about shiit and glitter and bedazzlers.

    But maybe later.

  • That layout is hard on the eyes.

Haven't we all learned by now that outside of E, having your thuper thpethial pretty printheth day is the only thing that matters, common sense and common courtesy be damned?
  • msmery, YGPM re: book recommendations thread on SB. I didn't see your post until someone pointed it out to me.
  • seshat, don't you have poop you should be talking about?

    Poopwar.

  • Thanks Seshat! I was wondering that this morning actually. "I should check my PMs in case anyone answered me..."

Not at the moment. I'm fresh out. I much prefer the vajazzle and freaky mutant animal talk anyway.

But she's not LYING. I mean, no one has actually gone up to her and said, "hey, did you already get married at the courthouse for insurance purposes?" And therefore she didn't tell them yes or no, so it's not a lie! This will never come back to bite her in the ass!

Also, since it's NO ONE ELSE'S BUSINESS why she did it, unless you are willing to pay for her insurance you have no right to criticize someone else's poor decisions. EVAR.

I thought you were too busy crying over football.

  • The ol' insurance song and dance is my FAVORITE. Because gettimg married is the ONLY WAY TO PROCURE HEALTH INSURANCE FOR YOURSELF.
  • Seshat, did I read on SB that you're an author?

Yeah. I just don't talk about the specifics much because I don't want to be considered a vendor. That, and I figure it's only a matter of time before I'm told to STFU already.

Not to mention, I get the feeling there are very few instances were you have a big wedding planned that you cannot move or get refunds for, suddenly lose health insurance, and have a big health issue which means you can't go without insurance/afford your own insurance for a short time period.

I mean, yeah, that DOES happen, but not as often as secret vow renewal "weddings" would lead us to believe.

Actually, I think military spouse is my favorite secret marriage reason. It's almost too close to fraud IMO. I mean, it's not, since being legally married gives you military spousal benefits. But rushing to get married THEN having a wedding like a year later so you can get 12 months+ of spousal benefits you otherwise wouldn't have been entitled to makes me feel icky.

  • Yeah, all the sham excuses are icky. I think if JOP weddings had a little more street cred, people wouldn't be so crazy about the big white dress.
