FI and I live in New Zealand, most of his family is in Sri Lanka (immediate family in New Zealand), mine in Switzerland. So we were going to have an engagement party in New Zealand early 2012 with our friends and the wedding in Switzerland in June 2012 (later on even a small party in SL).
As for the wedding registry, we will only be having one in NZ since we can't transport kitchen aids and coffee machines in our suitcases
But what about the engagement party we will be having in New Zealand? Since it's the only party we'll be having there I would think some people might want to give something. Would you then refer to the wedding registry or is that not ok?
And you would only talk about the registry if people ask, right?
