After party location?

hi 

our reception ends at 11pm and we are trying to find a place to have an after party to keep the party going!  we were hoping to find a bar that has a private room with a bar in it so we basically have our own space and bartender but we don't want to have to pay a location fee.  and we want to be able to set it all up in advance so we aren't trying to get 40 people in a bar on a saturday night and have a guaranteed space.  i have heard that some places are willing to give you the space for free if you can guarantee that you will have a decent size group come, which we will, but where are these places??  does anyone know of any bar (not a club) that has a back room or private room that might be good to check out?

Try Red Sky (they have a roofdeck and a lounge in addition to a regular bar area.  I've been to parties in both rooms and had lots of fun), the roof on the Delancy is great, but I don't know if they charge a fee.

where is your wedding?

Solas on E. 9th street allows you to reserve a room upstairs at no extra charge. the space is actually pretty nice and cozy. if you tell them the number of people and the time you'll be arriving, they'll also station a bartender there. just make sure you tip well since there's no charge for the bartender.

our wedding is in brooklyn but we want the after party back in nyc since that is where everyone is staying.  thanks so much for the great ideas, i will definitely check them out!

we are doing ours at the Galway Hooker (7th Ave South @ W 10th St.).  No add'l fee to reserve the third floor space, and you get your own bartender.
