DYI STD ettiquette

I just made a photo "collage" using picasa to create our STD.  They look like a card from like snapfish- or one of those sites.  My question is, is it okay to send STDs that are printed on picture paper or should I glue the pictures to cardstock, the inside of a card, a magnate  or something else?  I'd like to just be able to send them as is, is this okay?

Re: DYI STD ettiquette

  • I would judge.  Also, there will probably be words printed on the back.
  • No words on the back, I designed the STD to include "Please save the date for the wedding of" our names, the date and location.  They are very pretty, they have a picture of us and it incorporates some of our theme.  No need for wording on the back.
  • I mean, there will probably be the company name splattered across it.  Like when you get film developed and it says Kodak all over it.
  • Do Yourself It? Sounds dirty.

This.  They splatter stuff like that all over the back of a picture.  I think you should put it on cardstock.
  • Eh, every time I see STD I still think "sexually transmitted diseases".  It all sounds dirty!

  • I would get it on cardstock if you can fit it in your budget.

  • I don't think you need to put it on card stock if the back is blank. I honestly wouldn't care if the back said Kodak either because it's obviously a picture.
  • Why not upload it to VistaPrint (or similar) and then make your photo collage the front of a postcard? That way you can send it "as is" and just put people's address and a stamp on the back.
  • I wanted to do them myself bevause i have 150 free prints from snapfish- unfortunatly it's only for photos not photocards- but its the same idea
