Seriously, Tampa? SERIOUSLY?

Re: Seriously, Tampa? SERIOUSLY?

• A few years ago, my cousin and I went to a Sox/Yankees game, and she was wearing a shirt that said "Jeter Sucks Randy's Johnson" (told you it was a few years ago). Now that's a case where one might argue borderline obscenity.

But Yankees Suck? Really?

[QUOTE]This is starting to make me sad. A lot of Tampa is stupid, but I promise we're not ALL idiots.

Oh, I know this. And I'm from Orlando and I hate on Orlando almost as much as Tampa.

ETA: Mica, your H is from St. Pete, right? TOTALLY different than Tampa.
• That shirt is all kinds of AWESOME Bay.

Yup, Anna, H is from St. Pete. We're thinking about moving there when we do buy.

But one of the houses we looked at in Tampa was across the street from Derek Jeter's monstrosity. H was excited about TPing the place.
• Mica, I think your H and my H would get along splendidly.

• Mica, you're moving to Tampa? Did I miss something?

Also, I am way hating on Tampa because of the Bruins/Lightning game last night, so I will gladly jump on the Tampa hate train.

In all seriousness, I think they're just being.... overly cautious. In Los Angeles on opening day, some Dodgers fans beat the crap out of an SF Giants fan. The guy is still in a medically induced coma with severe head injuries and they JUST caught one of the guys who did it.

Personally, I think it's poor sportsmanship, especially when you have two young kids with you. Way to teach them to be negative. I don't think I agree with censorship, and I'm no Yankees fan, but that kind of thing rubs me the wrong way.

[QUOTE]Dude, when Manny Ramirez used to come to Cleveland with the Red Sox, there would be a CONSTANT "Manny Sucks" cheer coming from left field (where he played) all. the. time. No one ever got booted for it.

Same thing used to happen to Barry Bonds in LA.

• Wow...lots of fellow Bostonians responding to this one!

I've seen "Jeter Swallows" t-shirts sold outside of Fenway Park. We have some GREAT Yankee hater gear at games here!

FYI- My profile pic was taken at a Sox game last season :)

I was wondering if that was the reason for Tampa's feelings about the T shirt. The family of Stowe is suing the Dodgers for inadequate security.
• That's ridiculous. Looks like they just lost a big season ticket holder because I sure as hell would never buy tickets again.
