[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Effin' Tuesday Evening thread? : Yeah, I guess I understand, but I don't at the same time.  You don't just wake up that heavy.  She's been given a year to live and she is just NOW deciding gastric bypass?  I would have considered that the minute I was bed-ridden four years ago.  Like you said though, I'm sure there is something mental going on that we don't quite see or understand.

<div>Actually she said she has been trying for years.  Most places have weight limits on who they will do the surgery on.  </div>

  • Hi ladies!  I'm around a bit.  H is supposed to be home tonight, but he's at work.  So I'm sitting around trying to think of what to make for dinner.  They moved my grandma into hospice last night, so that's sad :(

  • Eff the rain.
Eff the etsy lady who has sucky communication and therefore I must assume she has no business skills and can't buy from her.
Eff the pompous marriage advice people give. Seriously, very little advice *actually* applies to everyone.
Eff this day, this frabjous day, because I'm ovulating and hormonal and had to take a Plan B pill for the first time in my life because Fi and I got a little too heated the other night and used the Pray and Pull method...
    Ugh I'm in such a mood today.Sorry :)
  • Kelly, I'm so sorry to hear that. T&Ps to you and your family.

  • Yeah, she's close.  I went up a few days ago.  She has had dementia for about 4 years now.  She's 94, so it's one of those thing... You know people can't live forever and her quality of life basically is non-existent, but it's still hard.

Kelly, I must have missed something. That is so sad. I will keep her in my R&P.

Dementia is so sad, it breaks my heart to see someone with it, esp when they don't even know they are in this world. That is just another one of the reasons I am so happy to be home. Both of our Grandma's are in pretty good health, but are in their mid 70's. I know they won't be around forever and glad we can once again spend time and do things with them.
  • I'm so sorry kjb!

It's actually sunny here for a change. We had more rain on Friday and Saturday than we normally get the whole month of May.

Eff m FIL. He is being a whiny biitch and demanding that DH attend all of these theatre meetings to help him out. He agreed to it a month or two ago when he didn't realize how stressed we would be.

[QUOTE]Not gonna lie. I'm so happy I don't have rain. My dad called me today to tell me he has had the heat on for 2 days in a row.

    Hi ladies!

Kelly, I'm really sorry to hear about your grandmother :( That's so hard.

I'm on Day 2 of my week off, so today H and I had a picnic at a winery and went antique browsing. No antiques, but I now have 4 more bottles of wine. Huzzah! And then we stopped at a shoe outlet on the way home. I'm up 3 pairs of shoes too, and those weren't planned. Oops.

    It rained here too.

I saw my friend's baby, then I went to the eye doctor.  I've been hiding in the dark, waiting for my eyes to be able to adjust to light for the last few hours.   I'm blown away by all the insanity that I missed on TK today.

Kjb and Lynda, I'm so sorry about your grandmothers.  I'm sending you both e-hugs.
  • What insanity Mica?  Lalalink?  I'm too tired to go hunting...

Beyond the timing issues and all the newbie silliness?  Nothing, I guess.  But I feel like there's been a surge in newbie issues.  It's like we've become Chit Chat.
  • i refuse to turn my heat on.  refuse.

I wanted to do this.  I caved yesterday, when it was 55 degrees in my house.
  • It is crazy to have the heat on in May. The windows should be open during the day to let the fresh spring air in. :::listens to rain on the roof:::::

yeah, I'm not terribly amused with the temperature. It was gorgeous outside here today, but the sun deceived me, and i wore shorts and a t-shirt. It was too chilly to go hiking like we originally planned.
  • I think it was about 57 in the house when we caved and turned the heat on.  We were trying to tough it out.  I'm glad we did cause it's barely been 50 degrees since Sunday.
  • Late coming into the thread, but could hardcore use some knottie vibes...

FI & I went and looked at 6 houses today (well, 5... the first one we couldn't get into thanks to a language barrier & two aggressive dogs). We fell head over heels in love with a 2 bedroom lakehouse cottage and are submitting a bid first thing in the morning. *fingers crossed*

Also, the weather lately sucks. Hate this sweatershirt-and-coat-in-May thing.

    Vibes to you, Kelly.

I'm wearing my pea coat in the house, it's so cold.  I'm almost tempted to start a fire, but darn it, it's mid-May!
  • If it makes you feel any better, I'm in a sweatshirt, under sheets, a double-fleece blanket, and a comforter with my warm laptop in my lap and I'm STILL cold.
  • Yay KB! Thoughts!!!
