Color question... parasol related. :)

OK, so I emailed my BMs this morning to get their opinions on what color(s) parasols we should get for the wedding day photos. I love these girls... they've given me two great ideas and I'm not sure which to go with. Sooo I figured you ladies could help me! :)

The bridesmaids will be in light green dresses... the flowers will be yellow sunflowers with red & orange gerbera daisies.

The two ideas are 1) a different color for each BM (4 girls and 4 colors) w/ white for me... or 2) either green or yellow for the BMs w/ white for me. My MOH mentioned they would all look kind of like sunflowers in green dresses w/ yellow parasols. Lol.

  • Have you thought about picking 2 colors and alternating them?

  • I'll probably get them from lunabazaar.com - they have tons of colors to pick from. Oriental Trading has better prices but not as many colors.

nhelene- I thought about alternating green & yellow too. Uuuugh so many options! LOL!
  • I like the idea of each girl having a different color.  It will tie in with all of the flowers and make each girl stand out a little more.

  • My BMs wore light green dresses and I had all different colors for the five of them and white for me. Loved it! Here is a picture (I hope! Never tried this before!). I also purchased from lunabazaar.com.

  • Do you know how they photograph?  Some girls might lose light for pictures if some are darker than others.

  • Michelle- you might have just sold me!!

Night_Sprite- I don't really know. All five of us tan pretty easily and spend a ton of time outside in the summer... so by the end of August we'll all probably have decent tans going. As far as how they photograph... I'm just planning on leaving that up to my photographer to figure out. :)
  • I like the idea of having 2 with yellow and 2 with green. Otherwise, maybe all with yellow or all with green. I didn't vote with each girl having a different color because I don't know how dark the red and orange ones will be. If the red and orange parasols are dark, I think that might clash with the green dresses (depending on how light the dresses are). If the red and orange parasols are pastel, it might not quite match the daisies in the bouquets. Just my 2 cents. I love the idea of the parasols though, too bad I'm getting married in the fall.
  • akhensley81, are you selling yours after the wedding?  I'm looking for yellow ones for my Tea Ceremony on August 14!

  • Another option - what about a darker green?  If the dresses are celery, what about Kelly or Sage green?  The flowers would still pop, plays off the dresses without being matchy-matchy, etc.
