DJ Pricing

I'm getting married NYE at Moran's and contacted a DJ that I have seen at a couple of friend's weddings that I really liked.  He quoted me $1,500 for 5 1/2 hours.  That seemed high to me, or is that reasonable?

    reasonable for nyc and for NYE

    Average DJ pricing in NYC for a credited DJ is generally $1,500 - $2,000

    That's exactly what I am paying...was the cheapest quote...most were $2500 and higher.  I got one that was $5K!!!

    $1,500 seems very reasonable. I just got a quote for $5k as well, but that was including screens, uplighting, etc. Needless to say, i'm not paying $5k for a DJ!
