What is your most dreaded part of spring cleaning?
It's time. Adoption saving and process started in November 2012.

  • I hate any type of cleaning, but it has to be done.

Cleaning out the shed is a pain....we usually do it twice a yr.

    I hate organizing the office.

  • H's office/mancave. It's a graveyard for "important" papers and electronic equipment.
  • I don't mind most cleaning... washing the walls is a pain though.

  • Everything !!!

I'm trying to talk DH into a cleaning lady.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • Yeah, I don't really mind it.  Our space is so small that we don't accumulate too much crap.  Though, I'm slightly scared of the storage space for when we moved.

However, cleaning mold off the walls= total bitch.

Yardwork and garden prep, I hate it hate it hate it. thats not really cleaning per se but it happens in the spring to clean up areas of the yard I guess.
  • I don't mind most things (maybe because we have a bi-weekly cleaning lady, so the "regular" stuff is always done for me), but the curtains never look the same after they're cleaned. Even when I don't dry them, they seem to shrink. Unevenly. Except the silk curtains I need to dry clean. Don't even get me started on how much that costs.

  • I would clean my house every day if I had time - vacuum, dust, all that fun stuff.  I get some strange satisfaction from making dirty things clean.
I despise cleaning the garage.  Mostly because FI is a packrat and has so much crap.  A 5 ft tall statue of an american indian come to mind.  Do we really need that in the garage?  I actually love stange statues/artwork, but this is just obnoxious.

I agree!!! I think I'll hire Merry Maids!
  • Windows, and the yardwork is the worst. I do deep cleans evey month or so anyway. So it makes for less work.
Last year was the basement, years of boxes he hadnt touched since he moved. I had a huge garage sale. Talk about work.

  • My mom used to make us wash down the walls--take every picture, clock, wall-thingy down, and wash the walls.
It is because of that craziness that I will never treat cleaning in the spring any different that I treat cleaning in the summer, fall, or winter.

  • Baseboards. I hate dirty baseboards, but I also hate cleaning them. Same goes for any kind of trim around doors, doors themselves, trim around windows, etc. I don't clean stuff like that nearly often enough, but it really bugs me when they're dirty. Which is all the time it seems like since every piece of trim has 29348 layers of paint on them since our house is 40934580982 years old.

  • I didn't know that Spring Cleaning existed outside of comic strips and sitcoms.

I clean my house once a week and do a thorough cleaning as needed.

Eh, I don't really partake in spring cleaning. I clean whenever I need to, but I really hate doing the dishes and cleaning the bathroom. I actually enjoy dusting and vacuuming.

  • Dusting, i hate dusting.

This. I had no idea people really do something more than the usual just because it's spring.

That said, now that we have a house with a front and back yard, spring means cleaning up from the winter outside. But that's all that I had in mind for any extra kind of cleaning.
  • Spring cleaning for me is usually throwing open the windows and airing out the apartment. It's also time to get the plants going and clean off the balcony.
