S/O: Weird/Scary Dreams

What's the weirdest/scariest dream you've ever had? I had dreams about my teeth falling out after we moved to Missouri, but the scariest I've ever had involved a giant possum eating my cat. It was awful.

Re: S/O: Weird/Scary Dreams

  • I don't remember many dreams.  Sometimes I dream of my mom and then I get mad when i wake up :)

I always have crazy weird dreams.  I usually remember them too.  I think the scariest I can remember is me and my dad flying somewhere and being in a plane crash.  I woke up right before we hit whatever it was we were going into.  Every time I fly now I think of that stupid dream.

    Edited for spelling..

  • I had a dream over and over for a few years when I was a kid.  It was always set at my house that we lived in and 2 doberman pinschers were barking on the porch outside, looking in at me through the big picture window.  Eventually they'd break through the window and I'd wake up.  Crying, every single time.
  • Mandy, those must be good dreams :) I dream a lot, and can usually remember them. Once I had a dream that I was pregnant, and Rick swore up and down it wasn't his. He made me walk to the hospital when I went into labor. I hit him when I woke up Tongue out

Ugh Fez, that sucks. Have you ever had a falling dream? I have them a lot right as I'm falling asleep.

  • When I was on Chantix  I had a dream I wrecked a four-wheeler in a foreign country.  I was badly injured, but couldn't ask for help because I would be killed if someone noticed me. I remember crawling behind a chain link fence with a helmet on. I had some pretty vivid and terrifying dreams on that stuff.

I used to have a recurring dream about my teeth falling out.  According to the interwebs that is associated with financial or stability worries.  It made sense at the time.

The weirdest one I ever had:

I was floating in white nothingness, at a table with the Joker (cartoon version) and a hippo in a flowered sundress, complete with parasol. We were having tea. Batman had recruited me to spy on the Joker, so I was asking him questions about his next plan, etc. Then the Joker realizes I'm a spy, and stabs me in the neck with a syringe, and injects some paralytic agent into me, leaving me conscious but unable to move. Then Batman swoops down on a rope (from nothing? Not sure how that worked) to save me.

Scariest was when I had a dream that I was standing in a forest with FI, and he told me he was leaving me. Then he turned around and hopped on a train (in the middle of a forest, lolwat), and I tried to follow him but it turned into a labryinth. I was lost and alone and it was really dark. I have a huge fear of getting lost, so yeah I woke up in cold sweat.

Yeah, if you couldn't tell, I have really weird and vivid dreams that I remember in great detail.

  • When I was in my teenage years, I had dreams a lot about a dark shadowy figure that was following me. Not chasing me, just following me. I'm pretty sure it was a man, but I never saw a face. I would see him in windows, catch him out of the corner of my eye when I was out and about, it was terrifying. In one of the dreams, I was backing my car out of my parents' garage and he was standing directly on the other side of the door as soon as I backed out. It took me FOREVER after that dream to back out of the garage at a slow pace. I would always lock the doors and fricken bolt. Hehe.
  • I have a reoccuring dream where I'm roller skating (the kind with 4 wheels, not blades) and I roller skate off a cliff. Every time I go off the cliff I wake up.

The first nightmare I remember was when I was very very little and I dreamt that I was locked in a dungeon and my family came to see me, but they left me there. I was so sad they wouldn't take me with them.

Nope.  I don't even know if I've ever seen one in real life either.
  • I had a crazy-real dream after my cousin died. She was in an ATV accident and suffered a traumatic brain injury. We were really close, and in the dream she told me that she was ok, and that I shouldn't be sad anymore. It was SO vivid, I was convinced (still am, a little) that I was awake and actually had contact w/ her.
  • H had a dream the other night that we were in a bar with some close friends, and I up and left him for some guy in a cowboy hat. And then our friend who we were there with turned to him and said, "It's OK bro, we're still buds."

Poor H was aaaallll out of sorts when he woke up from that. He rarely remembers his dreams.
  • I have a lot of dreams where I'm running and hiding from someone, but I can only run reeaaalllly slowly.

I also have ones where I'm looking for something or driving somewhere and I can't focus on anything, like I don't have my contacts in or something.

  • TR- I have those too! Where you're trying to run and putting as much effort as possible in to it, but still can't seem to move very fast at all?

I get the same thing with screaming in dreams. I feel like I'm screaming my damn lungs off, but it barely makes a sound.
  • Yep, that's it, AK.  I haaaate those.

  • I had a dream while vacationing in Jamaica that there were people in the room. I was under the covers and someone was pushing down on me from atop the covers. I was kind of half awake. I woke up unable to breathe and had FI panicking. It took a minute to recover.

I have had night terrors my whole life, but  normally I don't remember them. This one I remembered really well. I can still feel how it felt to have the person holding me down if I think about it, and I'll never forget the voices and the accents they had.

  • I had a reoccuring dream when I was little that Michael Jackson was chasing me through a maze.

The scariest dream I've had recently was a few weeks ago. It was really quick, but I dreamt that I looked over at the window next to our bed and there was a scary looking man staring straight in. I woke up yelling something along the lines of "Daaaa" or "Daaaad" which further freaked me out because my dad died almost 15 years ago. I don't know why I'd be yelling for him.

Oh, and two nights ago I dreamt I was playing soccer 8 months pregnant in Jamaica. That kind of freaked me out in the OMG I'm preggos kind of way.
  • Most of my bad dreams involve plane crashes - either being on a plane, or watching one from the ground.

I'm pretty sure my flying phobia is a result of the dreams. You know how dreams can sometimes be so realistic. Even though I've never technically been in a plane crash, I've had enough dreams about it that I very much know the feeling of terror and self-create it everytime I actually have to fly somewhere. : (
