Photographer question- Steve Worth, BFreed, Gulnara Studios

Hey guys-

I went to see a few great photographers today, so I wanted to see if any of you have used either Steve Worth, BFreed, or Gulnara Studios.  Any reviews/tips?

Thanks!

Gulnara hands down...her work is absolutely breathtaking, and she's top rated in the world of photography....she's really amazing and captures emotion like no other photographer I've seen.  Catch her quick before she raises her prices!

I LOVED her, too- I just had a few issues.  First of all, while her prices are reasonable, the albums are VERY expensive.  I also feel like she won't be very accomodating, and while I understand that is because she has a system that works and creates amazing pictures, it makes me nervous that I will have very little control over the perspective of photos taken.  The positive side to that is that her persective is pretty awesome.

Did you use her?  I am curious as to what she was like to work with,

I honestly don't think she's right for you if you want to control the perspective.  Photographers are artists, and that's something you have to let them do on their own.  You fall in love with their work, and that's their perspective and it's their style.  You have to be able to trust a vendor, especially with photography, and if you're going to control what they do, it means there's no trust, and no matter what they do, you won't be happy.

In regards to the albums, they are expensive, but they're crafted beautifully, and it's something you can committ to after the wedding.  A lot of work goes into her albums, and they're life-time guaranteed, and made in Italy.  She's quite selective about the album companies that she uses.  If you want, b/c you get the images, if you don't want to spend the $$ on her albums, you can make something up on your own for quite a reasonable price.

We are using Steve Worth.  He took our engagement pics back in October in Central Park and they came out amazing!  He's very easy going and open to suggestions.

@CAEid It's my wedding- of course I want to have control over aspects of the perspective.  I need to know that certain photographs that are important to me will be taken.  Having said that, you're right- the reason I love her photographs is because I love her style and want her to use that style to portray my wedding.  Did you use Gulnara?  What was your experience like?

@kinobeano I thought Steve Worth was really nice and accommodating.  When I looked through his sample albums, I was not overly impressed, but my mom picked up a pile of photos from the table, and they were just beautiful.  I think the albums were a little less impressive because they were photos picked by specidifc couples, and not necessarily him.

I thought about using the negatives to make my own albums, but that just seems like a pain.
