[QUOTE]Lynda - I don't ever want to move anywhere that doesn't have a Wawa ;) And Musu - Yeah, having sisters sucks sometimes. People have always told me I'll be so glad to have them when I'm older, but we'll see if that day comes, haha. I'm seriously still shaking from it, I haven't gotten that angry at anyone in a long time.

I'm sure that is true in some respects. Most of my friends have either older or younger sisters and most of them seem to get along decently with them most of the time. But I'm younger than you (23) so I'm not sure what age it is that it is suppose to get better. Probably will be better when the younger ones grow up a bit. AND when you move out, :) My brothers are 16 & 18 (well, will both be turning those ages within a month), and I absolutely love them. Even as teenage boys. J has become exactly like an older brother to them and it made us all closer. I get all squishy thinking about it and they think I'm lame but I know they agree. :)

<div>I have to say it one of the things I miss about the area.</div>

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • Goodnight Eagles! :)

  • Thanks Musical! I am actually doing okay. Some days are better than others.

Aryn- My professor might have given me an extension, but I am just so ready for this semester to be over!

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Anyone around for an Evening Thread? : What exactly was wrong with the other veil?  Was it just made incorrectly?  Personally I like really plain veils because it lets the dress be the main focus and doesn't compete with it. I had an updo and wore a veil for the ceremony only.  I also used a small hairpiece that was in the whole day but it added just an extra bit of bling without being over the top.  The veil sat right above the curls and then slipped out really easily after the ceremony.

<div>It was just super poofy at the top - it looked like I was wearing a bump-it underneath it. It had some very light beading around the edges and several of the beads are loose and there are a lot of loose threads all over the place. </div><div>
</div><div>I like your hairpiece - it's really pretty : ). If I have a veil I will probably take it out for the reception and I probably won't have a hairpiece.</div>
  • Glad to hear it, Barbie. I've been keeping you in my prayers for lots of good luck for you and your H. <3

I've been bored from outlining for finals for the past 30 min or so. J still is super into his project that he's designing so I'm stuck toying around til he gets bored. I tried enticing him with sexytime but he's too distracted to care. *pout* lol.

I seriously cannot wait for this. My mom will be way less annoying from a few miles away as well.

  • Ugh, I want some sexy time. Doctors orders, no sexy time for another 9 days.

And you H is too distracted for sexy time? Must be some project.
  • Aryn - It's the worst when you can't have it... I never want sex more than when I'm not able to have it, haha.

I'm hoping for some sexy time later :)

<div>Unfortunately I believe my mom will become MORE annoying when I move - since I'm going to be SO far away. I wish I could just move a few miles away. She's going to insist on visiting for a month at a time though. Fortunatley the flat does not have an extra bedroom so she can choose between sleeping on our couch or staying in FMILs spare bedroom. Which would be great. Seeing my mom but having her leave at the end of the day!</div>
  • Angel, that's so true. 10 days from now I'll probably be totally over it.
  • Sexytime is still about a month away for me *tear*

  • Haha, the flat. You're probably going to adopt so many English expressions once you move there, it'll be funny.

True story, whenever I read British chick lit, I think to myself in an English accent for a few hours afterwards. Once, I found myself thinking, "I wish it would stop bloody raining." I was like, wait, what did I just say?

  • Yeah, he is doing this final project for one of his classes and it involves this crazy computer program that does something really cool apparently. lol. He's super into it. He is normally always ready for sexytime too so i know its serious, haha. AF just ended yesterday (TMI i know) so I'm just very ready right now, lol. Plus he leaves tomorrow at noon or so for two weeks. blargh!

<div>LMAO. I already have picked up a lot of british terms and language. They have a different cadance in their normal speaking voice than we do - and I also find myself talking like that from time to time. It's odd. </div>

  • It seems like its way easier to pick up a British accent than it is to lose one. I've known people who live here for years and never lose their accent. But then people from the US will live overseas for like, 2 years and come back with a British accent. weird.

Right?! Haha. I know we will, I just hate waiting when I'm impatient lol. He will be gone since we both have finals for the next 2 weeks and it is easier for us to study when he just doesn't come home for that weekend between.

<div>Well - I know that talking birds only pick up words that they like the sound of. Maybe it's kind of that way with us and accents?</div>
  • Every summer my friend goes to Germany and hangs out with a lot of English and German friends. And every fall she has this weird trifecta of accents. The first week she's back I often have her repeat what she said.

Hmm that is an interesting theory, and makes sense. So I guess the British just hate the way we talk. ; I would totally pick up a southern drawl if I moved south. I love them so much. One of my closest friends is engaged to a guy from FL and when they visited recently, he kept teasing us all about our accents up here.

A girl I went to school with moved to Georgia for middle school and then came back for high school with a southern accent. We were all convined it was fake though. Everybody was like, "You've spent 13 of your 16 years in PA, stop pretending you're from the south." Kids are mean, haha.

<div>Aw that poor girl. It's incredibly easy to pick up a southerm accent. And the deeper south you go, the easier the accent is to pick up. I was in Louisiana for all of two weeks once and came back with such a strong southern drawl I barely recognized myself. </div>

Depending on the person, it may have been legit or fake.  When I moved from Minnesota to Michigan for college, I started changing the way I speak to fit in.  It sucked when you would open your mouth and people could tell you weren't from the area.  The first month of college, my "Minnesotan" accent apparently was pretty bad even though I barely had one at all (just a subtle one on my O's).  I was sick of people pointing it out so I worked on it.  DH still laughs at me when I come home from a visit back in Minnesota because my accent comes back a little :)

But then again, she may have been doing it for attention too.
