My FI and I have two different thoughts on this situation, and I'd like to hear your input. We're invited to an engagement party tomorrow, and the invitation said "no gifts please." I read this, but went out and bought them a bottle of wine (it was less than ten dollars). My FI thinks it is rude to bring a gift, when they specifically asked for no gifts. I think it is rude not to show up with a little something when we'll be eating their food and drinking their drinks. And I hardly consider a cheap bottle of wine a "gift." I'm just curious what you all think.
