When to give gifts to WP? (XP: Wedding Party)

We are getting gifts for the wedding party and the officiant (who's a friend of ours). We're not having a rehearsal dinner, shower, or bachelor/ette parties, so when is a good time to give them their gifts? Must it be done at the wedding, or can we send their gifts after the wedding?

I guess it depends on what you are getting them, and if any of them are flying to the wedding.   I am always wary of giving people things that they have pack into their suitcase to take on a plane -- with carry-on rules and weight limits, I don't like to assume that people can easily take things back with them.   If it's something small like a necklace/cuff links, perhaps a book, then you might be okay.  But a large "goodie bag" might be too much for people who are flying back.  In that case, I would give them a nice handwritten note on wedding day, and send the gift to their home after.

If the items are small, and nobody is flying, then it's obviously not a factor:-)   I think wedding day (before the craziness starts) is a good time.

I love the idea of giving a card on the wedding day itself and sending the gift later.

It depends on what you're getting them.  I'm getting my bridesmaids jewelry to wear in the wedding so I'm going to give it to them at the rehearsal dinner.
