Need an opinion on a photo booth

my dj offered my fiancé and I a phot booth for our wedding. Our guests would get in take a strip of four pics like a regular photo booth does. Then they (the guests) would get one copy and then one copy would be put into a scrapbook where the guests can sign near their picture strip. I kind of like the idea because I think the guests would have a good time and we would end up with some interesting and cool pics. What stops me is I don't know if it sends the wrong message, if a photo booth is a kiddie thing that you would se at a sweet sixteen; not a wedding. So I put the question out there is a photo booth a good idea or appropriate for a wedding?

Yes, it's a great idea! If I could afford one, i'm going to have one. You have to do what you feel comfortable though.

I love the idea of a photo booth! It's a chance for your guests to get a little silly, and it happens in a separate area, so it won't take away from the glamour of your big day. Making the photo strips part of the guest book gives friends and family a more fun medium for writing well-wishes. If it's a good deal, go for it!

Went to a couple of weddings with photo booths and can I just say... totally worth it! The guests had a great time AND the keepsakes are insanely valuable. Photos of your guests being their silly selves are definitely going to be a token you will cherish forever!

What DJ was it? Sounds like a great deal, and I've loved ALL the photo booths I've seen at weddings.

Thanks for all the opinions I think my fiancé and I are going to get the photo booth as long as our photographer doesn't have a problem with it there. We don't want to step on any toes. The dj is DMC featuring dawn michaels her website is www.dmcsound.com.

Finally Getting Hitched

Well I had the photo booth at my after party and it was a huge hit.

Everyone thought it was "the best idea ever."

When the ladies on the weddding channel introduced me to the idea I was HOOKED.  I didnt care about the price or what others thought including my husband and mh.  They hated the idea before it rolled off my tongue.  So I ended up paying for it all by myself it was about $1300 for the deluxe package and bought these great standing frames for .91 each. But that is how much I wanted it.

I was veryyyyyyyy distracted by it and spent too much time away from my general guest.  I took pics with almost everyone.  It was soooo addictive.  I was a kid in the candy shop. 

The pics came out beautiful and i got individual pics of every thing.  Let me know if you want more info I could go on and on.

If I had to do it again I would definately have a photo booth.

well to answer that part of your question it depends on the atmosphere that you are going for.  If you are having a formal wedding and you are bringing out the crystal table decor then I would say that is a no go.

But if you are looking for a more relaxed environment then I would say go for it.  Thinking back I have a large group of older people there and I didnt hear any complaints from them. 

Just make sure that it's the last event on your program.

My fiancé and I are almost a hundred percent on getting the photo booth after talking to friends, family, and reading all the posts on this board. So hopefully it will go over well and everyone will have a good time.
