Monday again

Re: Monday again

  • Morning everyone.  I spent yesterday outside in the sun and now I have a really awkward sunburn.  I have a bird-shaped sunburn on my shoulder.  And I did something horrible to my big toe- I stumbled and it bent under my foot, so now the joint is bruised and hurts quite a bit.

But FI and I picked our venue yesterday, which is exciting.  I am also wicked jealous of folks who are in graduate school- I really want to go to law school, but I took way too much out to go to undergrad and need to pay down my loans first.  Meanwhile, FI is looking into a second Master's degree, which should be interesting.

  • Morning.  I had a pretty productive weekend.  Yoga on Saturday, and then barn work on Sunday.  We also got our cornhole boards ready for paint, so I'll probably do that tomorrow.  We only got two bolts for the legs, though, so we have to go back to Lowe's and get two more.  We did the same thing last time.

LTB, that girl would have driven me nuts.

I'm sorry Froggie.  I hope your dad gets better soon.

  • Has anyone bruised their foot before?

I stepped on a really jagged rock running saturday morning and bruised the pad of my foot.  It hurts pretty good, but I don't know how long it will take to heal and I just did my first 7k and I don't want to take a break.

  • I love your tatto, LTB. It makes me want to go on vacation :) I'm hoping to get a tattoo this year but need to figure out exactly what I want. I got a horrific tattoo when I was 16 that I still regret...

  • Good Morning! I am so glad the weekend is over, it wasn't a good one. H and I did at least get some of the house cleaned together so that's good. My mom texted me this morning, she said that Sweetie is doing good. I know it's probably silly but after we dropped her off I was begging H to turn around and get her, it's good he didn't though he would've but I do think she will happier there even though i'll miss her. I will get to see her a lot though so it'll be okay, and it's less stress at the house for me and H which will be good.

Well that might just violate the T&C ;-)

But really, it is one of those bullseye lower back tattoos. I mean, the design is pretty enough, but it is one those "I got a tattoo just to get a tattoo" tattoos, if you know what I mean. At least it is easy enough to hide and I won't get get kicked out of any wedding parties for it, unless the bride wants us to wear arseless chaps or something.

The sig pic was an art project with paint and an old costume wedding dress from my university's theatre department. The concensus seems to be that it is hella freaky. I'll consider this a trial period and maybe move onto something a bit less Carrie.

To clarify: I'm not judging lower back tattoos, I'm judging *my* tattoo for it's silliness

I haven't, but if you were my horse I'd soak it in warm epsom salt water and put you in soft slippers for a few days. LOL

Epsom salts are supposed to reduce inflammation, I bought DH some to soak his feet in after work. He has Plantar Fasciitis and it's really painful right now. He says they help for a while.

  • Oh, hey... I finally got my sig to work. I'm second from the left.
    image
  • Epsom salt is really good, H soaks his knee at least once a week because he has bad knees so they bother him a lot, mostly in the winter.

See Steffi, I'd do an epsom salts/betadine mixture with a diaper and duct tape, but it's not that serious.  lol.

It's hurting less today, but I don't want to mess it up.  Stupid fresh footing they put on the trail.  Seriously, why wouldn't they put screenings down for a major triathalon instead of big rocks?  I mean, I wear minimalist shoes, but most serious tri athletes are in minimalist or zoot shoes which protect against nothing.

I have a chronic laminitis mare, so she has slippers since she wore them off and on for a while. I'm so done with diapers. LOL

    Hey all,

I don't have to work for the next 2 days and I feel really weird about it.

Habs, I'm sorry to hear about your foot.  That has got to suck.

LTB, your tattoo is really pretty.  I only have one and it was kind of a tattoo just to get a tattoo, but I still really like mine.  Mine is on my chest right by my shoulder. I didn't think it hurt that bad, but if someone was whining and crying like the girl next to you did I think I would have freaked.

  • Hey Habs -

I did bruise my foot once while running, so sorry, I know how much it hurts :(

The epsom salts is a good idea, I also kept it up and iced it for awhile.  It took a couple of weeks for it to heal completely (meaning, for the pain to go away).  But, I was able to do short runs on it about a week afterwards.

  • Thanks Steffi & Mari! It is a huge relief.

Dumdum - I'm so sorry, I'll keep him in my thoughts & prayers.

My pups are exhausted as well, I think the weekend took it out of them too lol. We went to see FI's dad satuday night & spent the night there & then spent sunday at my parents so they had lots of interactions with other dogs & running around. & then when we came home we took them to the dog beach & they played there as well. They passed out as soon as we got home & now they as passed out on the couch beside me. It is very hard to type as my giant half germ shepherd is comandeering the entire couch lol.

We ended up going with the Great Hall at the Doctor's House in Kleinberg, it was between that & Graydon, but Graydon Hall didnt hold as many people & we had to pay $10,000 to rent a CANOPY. Insane.

  • I didn't go, just heard her reviews and saw pictures.  It was only family.  We were invited to come later... but we didn't since it was a really long drive to dance.  But she was extremely pleased.
