Talk to me about soup.

I'm about to make a big pot of vegetable soup tonight, and I'm hoping to get some more soup recipes for the fall! I'm a vegetarian, and DH eats nearly all veg food, but I've found it pretty easy to take an awesome meat recipe and make it meatless.

What's your favorite kind of homemade soup? Recipes? Tips? Funny stories of recipes that yielded Frankensoup? I love it all.

You can pretty much make any soup you want, just puree it.  H makes a killer butternut squash.  Secret ingredient is (real) maple syrup.  If you don't have that, I suppose brown sugar might work.  Not too much though.

We're terrible we don't use recipes, so i couldn't even begin to tell you measurements.
