Re: Tipping Guidelines

  • I don't believe that the owner should be skipped over on tips.  You tip for good service and if they give that good service, they deserve a tip

<div>I don't agree with this. Most of the time, you don't need to tip owners, nor are they expecting it. </div>
  • I don't think I'd tip any of those people except the hair/make up like you already mentioned.  Maybe the officiant too.  I'm not sure what you mean by they have their own business.
  • A tip is a reward for exceptional service. Doesn't matter WHO gives the service.
  • OMG - tip the owners! That's an old and out-dated concept that just because someone owns a business they're not entitled to a tip. TIP THEM. They're not in this business to make sure you have a "special day"- they're doing it because they need to eat and pay bills. TIP THEM. Hair and Makeup is 20% at LEAST. And YES- TIP YOUR OFFICIANT.
  • Interesting, I was under the impression that you don't tip owners of a business. I have no problem tipping for service (I was a waitress in college, I get it), but I don't want to either a) spend money I don't need to or b) give them a 10% tip when I should give 20%.
