bridal shower???

I am having a tiny wedding with our parents, grandparents, and siblings ONLY. However, we are having a large reception afterwords for everybody else. Can i still have a bridal shower even though the majority of those people will be invited to the reception only?

Ha! After much debate I actually learned the answer to this yesterday! And the answer is....are you ready for it?? The answer is...YES! Yes you can!

As long as the reception is close to or on the wedding date then, YES. If you're waiting a month or more, I'd say no and your "reception" is actually more like a party.

Depends on when the reception is...the same day? A week later? Maybe even a month later? If someone OFFERS to throw you a shower, go ahead and accept.

More than a month later? Sorry, no, that's just a party, so a shower starts to look like you just really want gifts more than caring about people celebrating your marriage with you.

And please note, it's IF someone offers. You don't ask for one, nor are you entitled to one.
