addressing divorced

I have googled this and found mixed answers.

I am doing my pace cards, my parents have some friends that are divorced but still have their married names.  How to I write their names on the cards?

Mrs. Rose Smith

or

Ms. Rose Smith

Ms. is generally used for divorced women.

My addressing sheet from the invitations place I went through said to address married women who still have their married name as Mrs., but I find that odd, so I'm using Ms.

When in doubt, I'd err on the side of Ms.

If you can ask them what they'd prefer. If not, I'd go with hlq's suggestion and say Ms.

I had the same question for my mom.  I just asked her.

She still goes by Mrs. as a general rule; dislikes Ms. - but isn't offended either way.

If you are close enough to these people, just ask what they prefer.
